Did you not see the control issues he had this year? Do you watch the games or just read the scores in the newspaper?

He has one pitch and has control issues. He won't last as a starter unless he settles down and is under control.

He pitched more than 1.1 innings, pitching no more than 2, only 4 times this year!

I wasn't being a smartarse (on purpose!) when I asked if you actually watch the games or if you were a casual fan. I was being genuine and curious.

He has a good changeup and a killer slider that he pitches for a lot of strikeouts. His slider is amazing. For the most part, no one has been intrigued with him as a starter because of his 100mph+ fastball. That's the thing. The guy has no flaw whatsoever in his delivery. At least, that is what I see.

Jeff Brantley said the same thing I said about Chapman last Thursday after the loss. Marty asked Brantley what he would do with Chapman. Brantley said Chapman almost has to be kept as a closer because he is out of control and has only one pitch.

I disagree with Jeff Brantley. Like I said, it's all good man. His slider is really good. Don't know how Brantley has missed that. Then again, I've never been a major league pitcher.

He rarely throws the slider. From what I see its heat, heat and more heat.

Of course he is gonna throw mostly heat....he is a closer. But he can use that slider, and would use it more if he was a starter. That is what he did in spring training. He was being groomed as a starter. He it not a one pitch guy. That is what makes him scary good. I'm not just making this up, lol! Trust me, I'd be on your side if he was just a one trick pony.

Randy Johnson was a two pitch guy early on in his career.

Does Chapman need work as a starter? Sure he does. No doubt. But you cannot develop him as a starter if you just keep him in the bullpen. I think he can be an amazing starter or closer.

Can't argue against Barney at 2B.
Votto was out for a large portion of the season.
Stubbs was bad in everything else.
And Buerle is so awesome baseball tonight has a "buerle meter" when rating top plays.

Barney broke the record for most consecutive games without an error so you can't say its that shocking. I'm kind of surprised Bruce didn't get it but he's more of an outfield assit guy then a guy that makes a ton a spectacular catches...

I heard Mo Egger talking about a trade for David Wright being a possibility. I didn't hear what was actually disused, but that would probably go a long way in selling a few tickets for 2013. I'm not sure how realistic it is, but I can still dream.

If they were able to pay him long term, I'd offer the Mets Leake, Frazier, and maybe even Mesoraco. I know it's an awful lot, but NY isn't going to dump a guy like that without getting a big payoff in return. They aren't going to do it for Stubbs and Leake.

Wright protecting Votto with Bruce behind him would be formidable.

Actually you can. Yeah, Barney had the streak, and that is why he won the award, but Brandon makes plays Barney only dreams of making.

I agree that Stubbs did not win the GG because of his bat, but I still think it's bogus.

So who do you guys think we should pick up to bat lead off? Crisp and Pierre look like the most logical choices, but that would mean no Ludwick.

Are there any lead off hitters that play center field? It's starting to look like Stubbs has a life long gig here.
