Default No matter what you think about the season, it could be worse....

Jets called out for lack of heart, for the 2nd time this season.

And to think that someone thought bringing Rex Ryan to Cincinnati would be a good idea...

Rex would be better than Marvin...Hell anybody would be better than Marvin if they show they want to win. Our team lacks heart too.

i dont think our team lacks heart. ive seen Dalton show emotion on and off the field on the sidelines. this kid has heart. its the coaching staff that doesnt have a heart.

Dalton is not the problem. Sometimes I think the only reason people gripe about him is because they have nothing better to do or simply like to read the word of their own writing, similar to when people complaining just to hear the sound of their own voice.

for example, i seen that Dalton was extremely ****** during the first Ravens game. i saw his facial expressions, his body language. the only thing i could say about Dalton is that he could grow his stones a bit bigger and call more audibles if he doesnt feel right about the play being called.

Its getting closer and closer to Tebow time......its inevitable. Write it down...I'm predicting we see Tebow take over next game if Sanchez gets behind by 2 scores.

If we lose to the Broncos we have the same record as the Jets, yet they have not lost to a below average team as have..

Browns
Miami and Steelers[at the time]

The jets lost to both Miami and Pitt as well.

Using the same lame argument some members used last year when it was pointed out the bengals did not beat anyone other then the Titans with a winning record.

That lame logic was the bills were an above average team when we played them and it did not matter what their final record was.

When we played Miami and the Steelers they were below average.

When the Jets lost to Miami, Miami was not a below average team.

One cannot use the Buffalo excuse last year of when we played them and this year not use the same logic.

Therefore, we lost to Miami, Squealers and the Browns under .500 and the Jets lost to the Squealers under .500

Don't get me wrong. I agree with you 100%. The Bills were a bad team last year that benefitted early from games against a weak Kansas and Oakland squad and a bad outing by Tom Brady. So when looking back on last year I do not view that as a win against a good team. I do however view it as a good win, as it showed that the team despite its youth could man up and come from behind to win a game that was crucial to the sucess of the rest of the season. If they had lost, they would have started 1-3. But the Bills last year are like the Cardinals this year. I don't think many people are going to say the Cards are a good team despite starting out 4-0 and currently being 4-4. Or the Bears for that matter, who have looked and been awful, yet are 6-1.

In regards to Pitt and Miami this year, I fully expect them to finish with winning seasons or at the very worst 8-8. So when I look back on those losses, I do not see them as losses against a bad team, despite them have a record below .500 when we played them. Its not like we lost to a bad team and then all of a sudden two weeks later they become superbowl contenders becuase their record shifts from sub .500 to above .500. They are, however, bad losses, as they are games the Bengals should have won. Hell, the Patriots had a record below .500 at one point in the season. Is any sane person going to say the patriots were a bad team then? And I seem to recall the Giants winning the superbowl with a 9-7 record last year and the Packers doing it with a 9-7 record the year prior despite teams with 13+ wins. So it definately takes a lot more analysis to determien the quality of a team than just looking at their record.

So the only loss to a bad team that I can definitively say for the Bengals was against the Browns, and that was a divisional rivaly where anything can go. Baltimore, Miami, and Pitt should all be in the thick of it come december.

The Jets losses all come from pretty good teams as well, San Fran, Houston, New England, Miami, and Pitt, are all contending for a playoff spot.

But it really doesn't matter, despite the fact that the losses that the Bengals and Jets have come from quality teams, they are in a huge hole that neither team is likely to get out of. I would, however give the edge to the Bengals as they do have one less loss under thier belts. And considering poor divisonal records and confernce records, Im seeing the need for a 10-6 season from both teams. That would mean a 7-2 finish for the Jets and a 7-3 finish from the Bengals. Both teams are in trouble.

The Jets are missing Revis AND Holmes, their best players on both sides of the ball, so I could see why they're lacking heart at the moment. What if we lost Green and Atkins? How many games would we win?

Rest assured though, if the Bengals were in a big market, they'd be getting blasted incessantly for how the coaching staff plays not to lose and shows no real emotion. Marvin calling out players for not showing "fire" and leadership? The media would still be running that multiple times a day calling him a hypocrite.
