I'd like Jimmy Johnson too....I think Rob Ryan would be somewhere in our ballpark if we don't get Jon Gruden, Cowher, or Billick

If? there is a zero chance that anyone of those guys would come here, when Marvin is gone it will be hard to predict who it will be but I'd be willing to bet it will be a head scratcher, Marvin is a poor coach imo but things could get much worse

Right now I wouldnt mind signing Steve "Harper Jeans" Harper, my JV coach from 1981....he got the name "Harper Jeans" because he wore the same pair of pants every day to school. Shoot..... that guy could light a fire under even the slowest of seventh graders.:

I know many of you don't know him and maybe it's too big of a risk, but a really dark horse candidate could be Dave Doeren from Northern Illinois as a new HC/DC. I know I know he's a lot unproven, but man what he did with the huskies can't be deny.

There are only two people whom I believe would be successful with Mike Brown remaining the GM: Bill Cowher and John Gruden. Gruden has proven hs can become successful with a dysfunctional owner, Al Davis, and I believe Cowher would be successful despite Mike Brown. Having said that, I know that he would never come here unless he was given the GM title as well, so its a mute point in reality.
I dont understand the desire to see Zimmer as head coach. Because he has had "some" success as our D Co? They arent playing great this year. It's not like his defenses have even been as successful as Marvin Lewis' D's were when he was a D Co for Baltimore and Washington. Lewis was a great Coordinator. He's been a mediocre HC here. Being a relatively successful coordinator, as Zimmer has been, does not equal success as a HC. |

Talk about psycho head coaches. I lived in Houston Tx. When Jerry Glandville, Head Coached for the Houston Oilers. The local TV station was in the parking lot dueing a vidieo on some player. Glandville gets fired while the news crew's in the parking lot, Glandville comes storming out of the building, He jumps into his car. I don't remember what year it was, but it was a Corvette and it was a big block. He never said word to the reporters, he said it all with the tires. He dumped the cluch and smoked, I mean SMOKED the tires all the way out of the parking lot, You couldn't see the building it was that bad. It was SWEET. Loved it.

since the nfl voided peyton's contract i'd love to see him bring that high octane offense of his to the nati, but i know mike would never pay the amount that sean would command.

I don't think Payton would put up with Mike's meddling and thriftiness.

I wouldn't be surprised to see our next coaching search wind up looking like the Raiders search in 07. There were so many candidates turning that job down and they had to get a college coordinator to take the job.

Those are exactly the kind of coaches who would take this job with the restrictions from above without the full resources, I wouldnt rule out promoting from within (Gruden or Zimmer) or an up and comer like Marvin was back when he was hired

I know without a doubt who the coach will be next season.
Marvin lewis. Mike has NEVER paid a coach not to coach--EVER. I will run NAKED through the frozen food section @ Kroger if anyone other than Marvin Lewis is the coach.

Mike Brown would most likely promote from within to not look as bad as Al Davis did, but I could easily see him promoting Alexander.
