Default Mock-O-Ween 10/31

1. Johnthan Banks - CB - Mississippi State

This guy might be the best cover corner in the draft! With an aging Leon Hall and Terence Newman, an inconstant Adam Jones, an injury prone Jason Allen, Nate Clements moving to safety, and Dre Kirkpatrick on the rise this would solidify our cornerback situation for years to come. Not to mention with a lot of our cornerbacks on one year deals this would help our secondary next year.

2a. Sean Porter - OLB - Texas A&M

With the Bengals Linebackers not getting the job done Sean Porter might be the logical add. He is almost like a clone of Von Miller and can rush the passer as well. Manny Lawson and Rey Maualuga might not be back next year so this is a logical pick.

2b. Travis Frederick - G/C - Wisconsin

With Kyle Cook going down and how well Zeitler worked out how about a little insurance on the offensive line. How about another Wisconsin interior lineman! Zeitler and Boling have been doing great with Frederick in the middle our run game will be much improved next year.

3. Bacarri Rambo - S - Georgia

4. Jawan Jamison - RB - Rutgers

I don't know if Frederick can declare. I think he is eligible to do so though. Very few draft sites seem to list him. I like him as an option if he does.

1. Banks

Curious on what spot you have us pick? I'm one of us who wants another CB but only if it's not a reach. If we are picking around the 7-8 spot (where I see us as of right now), as of right now Banks is theorized to be a mid 1st so I'd prefer trading back and getting another 3rd out of it if possible (though the risk of doing that is vast)

2a. Porter

Have heard the name, need to do research myself on him.

2b. Fredrick

No complaints on adding OL personnel, would rather a player like Warmack or Jones in 2a, but Wisconsin is known for producing good OL so I'd be happy with this

3. Rambo

Obviously a fan favorite pick and would be a starter day 1. good pick up

1. I like Milliner more than Banks this year. Milliner has been phenomenal all year and has just Blanketed receivers. I would not be upset at all with a BPA corner in 1. You can never have too many good CB.

2. I like Porter. Maybe not with our first 2nd, as I think he can be had with our early 3rd. If you research Porter be sure to watch last years film to see him at his best. This year they are using him mostly in a pass coverage roll and less in a pass rush role.

2b. Fredrick has really solidified that Wisconsin offensive live but realisticly he is probably the 3rd/4th best C and can probably be had in later rounds.

3. no argument

4. I don't know enough on him to critique.

We asked him about the time he fumbled without being hit and the time he threw an interception without being pressured and the other pick he threw -- under pressure but stupidly off his back foot toward double coverage. All of that happened on three consecutive possession, a 10-minute fusillade of fail that turned a one-possession game into a blowout loss...

Don't be blinded by the "aging" comment.

Obviously, the Bengals need to consider replacing anyone 27. Like: Domata Peko and Leon Hall.

Here are the 29 year olds. Pacman Jones, Reggie Nelson, & Jason Allen (he is ghost anyway), are 29 (ancient).

Beyond that, Newman (34), Clements (32), and Crocker (32) are getting old.

Well, at least he picked the oldest positional group to go young on. There are a lot of old DBs out there.

I would consider Champ Bailey aging... And he's still playing at a high level. If healthy Hall still has a good 5 years left. We don't need to think about replacing him for another 3 or 4 years.

Leon Hall has never been as good as Bailey is right now. And he's coming off a torn Achilles. He is a solid #2 CB, but he's not a #1. I would love to give him a shot at SS though.
