I've been a Barner fan since the start of the season.

He has been mocked way late; however, I think he will cost 2B or 3 if we're lucky

He's no sixth rounder, but I don't believe he's a second rounder, either.
That said, he or Ellington would be fantastic additions.

Love the kid. His versatility is wonderful as well. He's returned kicks and punts successfully, has a touchdown in each in his career, can catch the ball extremely well, 6 TD catches in his career and obviously is a great runner. The NFL is much more physical than the PAC-12 but I believe, in the right system he could be a feature guy as well. Would love to pair him and Ellis up, I think that would help Ellis and the running game tremendously.

Not doggin' on you, or trying to start a debate just interested, but why? Just like someone else more or don't think the kid will be all that good?

Sometime I wonder if he is big enough to be a feature back. He's about 190 lbs. His speed(4.39) and production is obviously phenomenal.

Finally got to see him last night. Wow! Just WOW! Great speed and quickness, incredible feet, vision, balance, breaks tackles, doesn't even need a hole. I'd pee myself if he ever ended up in stripes.

If he was there in the 2nd, God himself couldn't stop me from running to the podium.

He is well worth a 3rd. I think by the combine, he might work himself up to a 2nd.
I am def. on board. Big fan of this kid. Darren Sproles esk

I think even better than Sproles. Stronger, even quicker feet. As a Bengal, he would change our lives.

I have mocked him a handful of times already. It is just time to boost his stock.
And we still need a feature back.

The only problem I see is that we probably wouldn't use him correctly with our current coaches.

Barner would be a great 3rd down back. This teams needs a runner who can carry the load as a full time back, someone bigger and able to run consistently between the tackles. Look to what the skins have done this year to see how it would help this young team.
Michigan State's Bell would be my pick at this point. |

Why would Barner be restricted to a 3rd down back?
If a guy is on the light side everyone always just throws them in the "3rd down back" category. Chris Johnson is 5'11", weighs 191 lbs, and has played in at least 15 games every season. BJGE should just be a short yardage back plain and simple if he ever comes on the field.

Bell kind of has a similar, if opposite problem. Is he fast enough to get to the holes vs. top competition?

Barner will be tough to judge until the pre-draft all star games. See how he does in an offense that isn't a spread option. The speed is there. But he won't see those open lanes with a QB under center in pro offenses.

I would take him without batting an eye.
If LaMichael James goes in the 2nd, so does Barner. |
