i think whit is still good,,but he does struggle with smaller ends with speed...he is so big and tall it makes it hard for him to get low and have leverage on the small guys... dummervil is 5ft 11in and gets low, seemed like whits hands and arms were up on dummervils shoulders,head and neck most of the time, blocking like that made it easy to get called on for alot of penalties and makes it very hard for him to slow them down..

Andre Smith: Left tackle was his natural position at Alabama where he was a beast. I would move Andre Smith to left tackle, move Andrew Whitworth to left guard where he no longer has to contend with fast defensive ends, and put Dennis Roland at right guard where he did a nice job in 2009. Kyle Cook better get well to play center again because Trevor Robinson is too small and Jeff Faine is regressing after his fine play early in the season. The only offensive lineman I feel is carrying his weight right now is Kevin Zeitler at right guard.

Von Miller beats everyone without a fullback like a drum. Andre Smith is a fish out of water at right tackle because it's not his natural position. Look up his highlight films at Alabama where he ruled at left tackle with an iron fist.

Roland shouldn't even be on an NFL roster let alone starting at RT.

As for Smith, yes, he could be a better left tackle than Whitworth, who knows? He's been playing well at RT, and Whit has been playing well at LT, so we'll leave it at that. Besides todays game, I don't see any reason to change things.

Whit had a bad game, and he's been sub-par compared to his normal level of performance. The question is, is he nursing an injury, is the weight loss effecting his play, and will he continue to decline in the future?


I am not one of those who believe that Whit is a contastntly denied pro bowler, but I did have him as a top 7 LT previously.


If anyone on this team has earned some faith and a second chance next season, it's big Andrew. If it continues to be an issue, keep a RB in or chip with a TE on that side.

He was slow, didn't bend well and had horrible technique. Dalton gets the ball out too fast for this too be apparent, but I coach football and I see it.

Whitworth was our best player on O last week without the penalties. With the penalties, he was 4th best.
