Default Sean Payton deal with New Orleans voided

Quote:
Payton is expected to become the NFL's most sought-after head coach after this season and there already is speculation in league circles that he could wind up returning to Dallas, where he worked as the assistant head coach from 2003 to 2005, during which time the Dallas Cowboys brought in quarterback Tony Romo, who attended the same college, Eastern Illinois, as Payton.

There's no way he'd want to come here, but interesting nonetheless.

nice lol I would think he could get pretty much anything he wanted from almost any team

his smartest move would be to go back to NO

bad history there now.

He wont be coming here i dont think with marvin having another year on his contract and a excuse for the rest of the year due to playing better teams.

But i would love the move.

Pay him $10 million a year and give him full control if it means getting him here.

Won't happen, but a guy can dream.

I would have to guess that San Diego would be the most likely to land Payton. It looks like this could be the end for Norv Turner. San Diego is the only vacation city that would likely be in the HC market this year. Their ownership isn't miserly, when it comes to putting a winning team together.

Philly will make a play for him I'm sure.

I thought Dallas was already writing the check.
