Default Bengals sign Schaffer
He may just be an undrafted PS player, but I LOVE this signing!

The ILB from Cincinnati recorded 114 tackles with 12.5 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions, three forced fumbles and six passes broken up in 2011. He is 6-1 230 and played 4 preseason games for the Jaguars where he lead the team in tackles with 18 and added an interception and two passes defensed.
Lord knows we could use some LB help. I think he can make a difference for this team!

On paper, sounds decent. I think we should forgo drafting linebackers in future and just pick them up undrafted, they seem to have more fire.

David Pollack, Odell Thurman, Keith Rivers, Rey Maualuga, Dontay Moch - just some of the swing and misses at linebacker with high draft picks

oh and Keith Rivers is back this Sunday

Lamur/Schaffer/Burfict.. I am not sure if that'd be impressive or pathetic. Hah.. I suppose it depends on their level of play, but 3 rookie UDFAs? Unheard of.

I liked him at UC. He seemed to be everywhere. Non-skill players from UC are having a fair amount of success in the league.

Don't know if he can help or not. He was probably nearby. Didn't they look at him earlier in the year? Marvin's about to release Rey, right? Riiight.

That's true, I don't think any UDFA will ever have the talent/potential that Thurman had his rookie season. Guy was a monster who may would be in his 8th year this year, and if his rookie season was any indicator, people would be talking about him and a destined future HOF.

Damn drugs and neck injuries.. ruining the Bengals LBs for years.

Not fair to list Pollack...that kid was gonna be great. If not for an unfortunate injury that nearly took away a lot more than football, he'd still be out there kickin ***.

I'm not discounting this theory. The majority of Seattle's Defense was undrafted or late round picks.

well to be fair the same could be said for Rivers who played 35 out of 64 games with his injuries, the same what if question gets asked if Hines Ward didnt break his jaw considering he was still 2nd place for Defensive Rookie of the year that year having played only 7 games

but the point is these players never lived up to their expectations based on where they were drafted regardless of injury, trouble or underachievement
