Keepers and Additions:
Andre Smith - top priority Michael Johnson Rey Maualuga - need to keep some bodies Terrance Newman - a body and would be much better off in the nickle and dime role in 2013 Brian Leonard - 2 minute back and should get more looks Kerry Rhodes - new SS to play as a stop gap for now Thomas Howard - brought back for depth and potential as a starter Draft: Trade back a few spots out of the top 10, collect a 3rd round pick (and picks in 2014) Round 1: Sam Montgomery DE LSU - Bolster a sketchy pass rush. Future 3 down DE. Allows us to move MJ around to potentially better match ups. Round 2a: Alec Ogletree LB UGA - He falls to the second IF he declares because of character concerns. I don't see much changing here and we roll the dice on a potential Odell type LB. Round 2b: Khaseem Greene LB Rutgers - Another fine addition to the LB core. Burfict and Ogletree can duke it out for MLB and loser goes to SLB. Greene steps in at WLB with Howard. Round 3a: Giovani Bernard RB UNC - Our new feature back. I doubt he ends up here but fits current projections. Round 3b: Shawn Williams SS UGA - Underrated slightly. Nothing stellar but a leader and a football player. Round 4: Logan Ryan CB Rutgers - Depth at CB, Pacman is somewhat unreliable and we need to stockpile some youth. Round 5a: Dennis Johnson RB Arkansas - Darren Sproles type back. Great out of the backfield. Good burst. Pairs well with what we have. Round 5b: Braxston Cave C Notre Dame - A tough blocker who gives us plenty to try and build with in the interior. Round 6: Ray Ray Armstrong S Faulkner College - Value pick. We need an answer at SS and Armstrong is just another round in the chamber.

Andre Smith-Keeper Micheal Johnson- I'd like to have him as a backup, and draft Bjoern Werner Rey Maualuga- We need to keep some bodies but we don't need to keep people who are going to hurt us. GONE Terence Newman- Had a good game but he has ******, We'll see how the rest of the season plays out with him. Brian Leonard- He's a try hard guy, keep em. Thomas Howard- Keep him & hopefully he comes back 100%. 1st RD-DE-Bjoern Werner- Reminds me of JJ Watt and is a consistent pass rusher. 2nd RD-RB-Andre Ellington- We need speed at RB, somebody who can make something happen because the holes close quick with us it seems like. 3rd RD-OLB-Gerald Hodges- Move Burfict to MLB, Keep Howard, and have Hodges outside. Hodges has good awarness, and can make open field tackles.

No way in hell Sam Montgomery makes it outside the Top 10. He is the top DE. If he does, then you take him but I just dont see how he makes it outside the top 10. As far as the second is concerned, we would need to make a choice between the two you have listed. LB is a need, but I dont see the reasoning for drafting two in the same round, high in the draft.

We can probably blame berserker's aggression on his lack of sleep. But he is correct. It's proper etiquette to create your own thread in Mock Drafts if you wish to share your own mock. Replies are meant to give feedback on the OP's mock. The only feedback that was given was about the FA signings.
I got yo back berserker. Regarding the mock: Sure why not. Hits all our needs, and no real reach at all. |

This seems like a very, very potent LB corp. Too potent?
SAM: Burfict/Greene/Muckelroy MIKE: Ogletree/Maualuga WILL: Howard/Lemur What is your ideology of bolstering the LB corp? Just checking to see what is in that sleep deprived mind of yours! :-) Maualuga was solid at SAM. Perhaps, he can return to SAM in 2013. If so, Howard/Lemur WILL, Burfict/Muckelroy MIKE, Maualuga/TBD SAM wouldn't be so bad. You have me thinking about drafting 2 DEs and 1 LB. Kerry Rhodes? What is his story? |

Picks in 3rd round look good as well. A trade from #10 to anywhere #18 or below will net a 2nd rounder though and from #22 and down is a 2nd plus a 3rd or 2nd next year. Good draft.

I'm not a big fan of Mingo, something about LSU defensive linemen has me worried. I like the next 2 picks a lot. The following 2 are pretty solid. They certainly address the positions of need we have, they just aren't the players I am as big on. The Ray Ray Armstrong pick is funny. I understand a 6th round pick is often a throw away. Sure he is a "high risk, high reward", but he never played up to his potential at Miami and would be shocked if he ends up on a NFL 53 man roster. Overall a pretty good draft, I would prefer if people didn't have trades since Mike Brown doesn't believe in that, but that is just me being *****y.

I can't believe I forgot that. I'm really tired, but I'll stick by my remark about not liking trades even though you put it down.

I'm curious why people are so high on the LSU DEs. Mingo has 3 sacks this year, Montgomery has 6.
It seems to me that there is a quite a bit of difference here when it comes to talent vs. production. |

To me Dion Jordan is the best defensive player we could get in this draft. He is big, fast, strong, explosive and he is a high motor guy.
I think he becomes what we hoped MJ would.

He isn't big. Not at all.
He is actually undersized as a 4-3 player and he isn't a 4-3 LB.

Dion Jordan.
Lawless said he is big. He isn't.

He's 6'7" 241. He's definitely more tall than "big".
He is especially undersized to play DE.

Definitely lanky and I like him but I wouldn't classify him as big

2A. Do you leave VB outside? 2B. You know I'm a big Greene fan, but who plays SAM? 3A. Would be a steal. CBS now has him as the top ranked RB. 3B. We need a SS 4. Don't know much about the kid 5A. Love Dennis Johnson, brings a skillset similar to Doug Martin 5B. We need a Center 6. Well worth the risk. |

As for LB, I would have a comp between Ogletree and Burfict. Winner takes MLB and loser goes to SLB with Green at WLB.
