People in general really wouldn't though, right? Weed legal on the state level means cops wouldn't crack down on it. It isn't like the feds are going to be looking for people who are smoking a joint

No but they will target the top suppliers. They will (and have been) crack down on medical dispensaries. They will find every way possible to make it worse for people.

The federal government looked the other way to a large extent with medical marijuana when it was passed in many states. Now that the recreational use is legal in those states, I don't think the Feds will look away so easily anymore. I expect them to stop this. It could eventually become a battle between the states and the federal government in the Supreme Court.

Not only that, but I'm sure that just because it's legal in 2 states that athletes would be allowed to use it. I would even say that if it were legal in all 50 states,...athletes wouldn't be allowed to use it.

We already teach kids that it's ok to binge drink, over-eat, smoke, belittle people of other faiths, hate people who don't vote like you, that it's ok to fail in school (just lower the bar), among other things.....

I wouldn't be too sure of that. It would seem to me that the employers would just include it in their company policies, and have employees to sign off on a terms of employment contract. It's probably not as big a deal in some professions as others. For example, I don't care if the dude making my pizza, or landscaping the yard is getting high, but it would seem silly to have my loan officer at the bank or the engineer designing our bridges getting baked in their off hours.

So therefore it would be better if our bankers were smoking instead of drinking.

If beer is legal with how many deaths its causes each year.

The pot should definately be legal because it directly causes 0 deaths.
And legalizing it here will actually do a lot of good.
People no longer have to deal with a dealer (who often dont just sell 1 thing)
they can get a safe product each time.
The state gets tax money from each sale (makes more money than the porn industry) instead of that money just falling off the grid and ending up in some drug lords safe south of the border.

Plus like booze legalizing it or when you old enough to buy it takes some of the Fun of it away... i on average have drank less after 21 than before.

I didn't say that I want them drinking themselves to oblivion, either. Most companies that employ high output individuals have policies against alcohol abuse already.
