I wanted Martin, but without Zeitler, Bengals would have had a huge hole in their O-line. And Martin was not that highly rated to be taken 17th.

I wanted him in the 2nd, as did many people, but still.

I still think we think we made the right picks. Hindsight is always 20/20. There were twenty-odd teams that could use Doug Martin right now, but they all missed on him too. We needed Kevin Zeitler way more than we would have needed Doug Martin.

I was not a fan of Martin's pre-draft; however, he appears to be doing well at the next level. It MIGHT just be a little early to sat if he is going to have a better NFL career than Dre K. or Zeitler.

For starters, you don't have "one good week" like that if you're a scrub. I'm sure you're not convinced.

Secondly, here's his rushing yards for the last 5 weeks: 251, 135, 85 (5.3 avg), 76 (5.8 avg), 33 (8 carries, 4.1 avg). Which "one good week" were you referring to? And his avg YPC was higher than BJGE all year, and that's on Martin's worst game during that stretch.

And I remember some comment about he is running behind an all-pro line. Nicks was placed on IR before the "one big week". Is Jeremy Zuttah part of that All-pro equation? (People predicted we would make an "average" offseason move by adding some scrub like Zuttah to the team)...beside the point.

And if he sat on the bench for his "one good game", hypothetically, he'd still be ahead of Matt Forte, Reggie Bush, Michael Turner, and BJGE?

And why would we post about him every week anyways? He's on TB.

I dont know where your getting your stats but Doug Martin has been excellent this season.

He's averaging 5.2 ypc with 7 TD's and if that wasnt all he has 20 rec for 245 yards 12.4 ypc.

PS I called him my NFL breakout player when doing mocks last season. (and was flammed hard for it...) Also Ive mentioned him a couple times in JN.

Based on hindsight, the Browns should have taken him at #3 instead of Richardson. You can't look back, we definitely needed to upgrade the back end of our D and our offensive front at that time; I'm still a big fan of our 1st round. Hopefully Dre steps up now that he's on the field and validates that.

I doubt it....He never seemed to regret drafting Jerome Simpson or Chris Perry spending forever telling us how great they were or how some players just take a little time to develope. He never admits he screwed up something.

Nobody should knock the Zeitler pick. Taking a 1st rd RB is a mistake, but we can't keep totally neglecting some of these positions either.

Carl Nicks played no part what so ever on Doug Martins performance this past weekend. Carl Nicks has been on IR since Oct 30th.

Doug Martin is a terrific young running back that does everything pretty well. I haven't posted here a lot, but Doug Martin was my favorite running back prospect coming out in this years draft, (considering Richardson wasn't really a draft option)

Although I thought he would be there in the 2nd. Can't complain about Dre or Zeitler in the first, but was bummed he was gone in the first and not there for the Bengals 2nd Rd pick.
