It doesn't matter as far as the season goes. Our season as far as playoff hopes is over. The Giants game in fact is probably the least important game of the last 4 - Browns (in Division), Dolphins (potential Wildcard tie breaker), Steelers (in Division), and Broncos (potential Wildcard tie breaker).

I'd feel better if they won a game against a good team. In fact, this may be the last good team they play for awhile. I think the next 4-5 games are against bad teams with similar 3 win records ..... Chiefs, Raiders, Cowboys, Eagles, and Chargers. So if we win half of those, we'll be 5-9 or 6-8. So the Giants game, although unimportant in the grand scheme, is probably our only remaining opportunity to feel good and get a good win.

Yes I'm going to the game because I committed a few weeks ago. I am hoping to be entertained and grab a win. But no Marvin, the game is not going to be "exciting" and high drama. There is no pressure to win. Your team gave that up a couple weeks ago. You are now only playing for pride and respectability (8-8) and to show people you were partially right and this team may be good.

From 3-5, We'll have to finish 6-2 to have a winning season. If we played Cleveland 8 times, I don't know that we could finish 6-2.

I'll feel great about the win and start feeling some hope for 8 wins (and maybe 9 with a late season miracle).

But deep down I know the season is over no matter what happens this week. Cincy's just too injured and/or too light on talent at key positions (interior line, wide receiver, linebacker) for me to believe they'll put together a playoff run after a 4-5 start.

The sports masochist part is interesting. I've also felt that way about baseball. The season is 162 games and the smallest margin seperates playoff teams. It's so hard to make the playoffs because so few teams go.

And this year there was the 1 game play-in game...so 2 teams fought to make the playoffs and have it gone after 1 game.

I'm hoping for the 9-7 season somehow and I'm not even thinking about playoffs because realistically that conference record wont beat anyone and beating someone head to head or finishing with that record alone would be the only way in just like last year where the Bengals wouldn't have made it in a 3 way tie and their only way in was a tie with Tennessee which worked out completely for the Bengals

How do I feel about the season....not as good as I did in week 1, but better then I did in 1999 when we went 4-12. Am I happy...absolutely not...but I saw more FIRE last week in the defense then I did against the Steelers. Our offense is predictable and Andy needs to learn to extend plays ala Big Ben or he's going to eat a crapload more turf. Overall my Im getting the feeling its not going to get any better unless Marvin takes the reigns and DRIVES these guys with fire and brimstone. Its on his shoulders to squeeze every ounce of talent out of these guys....but if hes not willing to get his hands dirty then the seasons over.

May be dead wrong, but I've come to the conclusion that it's not as much about fire as it is struggling to execute bad game plans and not enough talent.

No, they are contenders for the playoffs. They weren't contenders early on, but then they ran into a team with the most stinky fans in all of sports, won a game, and *POOF* the Dolphins are a force.

The fans of this team are so incredibly terrible, that they force our team to catapult hopeless teams into the playoffs, and I for one, am ashamed of all of you.
