When do you lose that invincible feeling?

I'm 42 years old and still have that invincible feeling, only I'm much smarter now than I was at 16, 18, 20 and on. You know that feeling I'm talking about don't you? It's the, "I know I could die, but it wont happen to me" feeling that you have?

I've always had this feeling and am just asking when it goes away.

I dont know if its a feeling. But for me its more of a If i die im dead and i dont have to worry about it.

I think what your talking about though is those feelings you have when your a teenager young 20's where you think you know everything and nothing can hurt you.

And since you are stating you are so much smarter than that you probly wont lose that feeling till someone very close to you and your age suddenly is gone.

For me it was when I was in a car accident. Wasn't even that bad, but something just kinda switched in my brain that made me start worrying about stuff.

I'm 48 and wake up surprised every morning Neb, all I can tell you is that in my case, I quit caring several years ago.

Hasn't happened yet. Every time I wake up from a black out I yell, "I'm alive, I'm invincible"!! Nude, but invincible.

It was the day after my open heart surgery, when I was 49. It felt like someone had driven a Buick through my chest. Then I had Nurse Ratchet marching me up and down the hallway for the next 5 days, telling me how good it was for me. Yep...no more Mr. Invincible for me.

No kids, but completely understand. I have people who depend on me, and thier lives greatly impacted if I was killed or badly hurt doing something stupid. Don't get me wrong, I still feel very capableand whatnot, just not worth proving something when you got beers at home and things depending on you.
