LOTS of horrible calls in that game.
Say whatever about the replacement refs, but they called junk on EVERYBODY. They didn't just pick one team and bury them...not like the "real" refs have done. Notice how the win/loss records of big-time franchises (GB, Pitt) or teams with big time players (Manning) have drastically changed with the regular refs back? Might be coincidence, but consider that the NFL was fine with the calls until GB got screwed. Then it was "sign this immediately!" |

In this morning's enquirer:
"It seems like every week we are saying that this person needs to do this and that person needs to do this,” the Bengals’ veteran left tackle said Wednesday. “What needs to happen is we need to win a football game. I’ve heard Marvin (Lewis), I’ve heard Jay (Gruden), I’ve heard all these people trying to point to people needing to do things. “We just need win a football game and stop worrying about who we are trying to say needs to do something and start worrying about the team going out winning a game.” You can always find someone to try and push and say, ‘Hey, this one play dictated the game.’ But the truth is you can go make the next play a big play and win the game yourself that’s what the Giants have been able to do is push away the critics, win Super Bowls off of maybe we are not the best rushing team, maybe we are not the most effective team, but when it is time to make a big play we make it. That is how you play winning football.” WHITWORTH IS AN IDIOT calling out Lewis and Gruden. The kind of play Whitworth is talking about must not include linemen not false starting, holding, repeatedly taking proper body angles to protect the QB. I'd be curious to hear what Lewis and Gruden REALLY think about Whitworth... INCOMPETENT MORON |

Von miller is hard to block when he know you gotta pass ( we are built to block big teams... Not small fast teams) now i didnt say we could block them i just said thats how we are built.................man i wish we could just start winning .......because if we would have won nobody would have said anything about a holding call ......when you winning it gets over looked....... |

Andrew whitworth has not one clue what it means to be a leader on this team.
A leader shouldn't call into question (publicly) when a coach (Lewis and Gruden) calls out a player. His job is to win football games by letting his actions SPEAK louder than his words. Actions involving not letting the quarterback stand there to get pulverized while Whitworth's man continually blows by him and through him Actions involving not committing false starts - time and time again Actions involving not even giving the refs a smidgen of doubt whether WHITWORTH was holding. Actions that result in finally living up to his potential... He can continue to speak but Andrew Whitworth really needs to Lewis take care of the coaching decisions- And Lewis has every right to say publicly regarding Rey Mauluga's pathetic and inattentive performance (what the public has known for 2-3 years) |

How interesting what I've been saying for 3 years about Whitworth's performance as a player is starting to appear on this board from other people.
The snowball performances of Whitworth's on the field awful play now simply showing up in other places too... Coaches coach, players should do as they're told... TRUCK, if you want we can sit down over a nice cup of tea as we gaze into each other's eyes like two precious trolls.... |

If false starts, holding penalties, inability to protect the QB and calling out the coaching staff in public are what is accepted as a standard of a person who calls himself the team spokesman then
philosophically, (LYGRAF AND TRUCK) I can understand how difficult it must be to watch teams like the PATRIOTS, GIANTS, STEELERS players' do things correctly that result in winning football games. Things like keeping your mouth shut when the coach tries to make his players step up and willing to accept the challenge.... |

This is very petty....What Whitworth said was very positive....He said they need to stop the finger pointing and focus on getting a win.....Can we agree that they need to stop the finger pointing and focus on winning Sunday.....Myself, I like Whitworth.....but this thread has became just more blame game : Whit is good, no Whit stinks, Marvin is good, no Marvin stinks.....
Enough.....I agree with Whitworth.....Focus on the win...get the win and hopefully end all this pointless finger pointing. ....You know when you point a finger, 3 fingers point back at you. You could say all Whitworth was saying was, " a little less talk and a lot more action "....Elvis would agree, and so would most people sick of the 4 game losing streak.

To say Whit isn't a leader on this team is just... completely flabbergasting to me.
He is the heart, soul, and attitude on a team that needs about 21 more of him.

What Whit said could potentially divide the players and coaching staff.
There isn't anything "leader" about that. Whits comments, and Lewis', should have stayed out of the media. 2 wrongs aren't going to make this right. |
