Anyone else as excited about GTA V as I am?

Not a huge gamer, but I dabble when a good game comes out. I really like the GTA series as it allows you to do pretty much anything imaginable. Shaping up to be a pretty damn good game.

"The new GTA 5 map will be bigger than San Andreas, Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV put together."

-There are 3 playable main characters. Their names are Trevor, Franklin and Michael.
-You can switch between them at any point when not on a mission. When you switch, the camera zooms out into the sky and then back down to the character you switched to.
-You can switch to another playable character during missions where they work together. This happens instantly.
-Some missions will only have one of the main characters, whereas in other missions it may be two or all three together.
-Each one has its own personality, motivations and skillset. When you're not controlling them, their lives continue and you may be surprised to see what situations they find themselves in when you switch back.
-Each character has his own story arc.
-Of the main storyline missions, there'll be several complex missions focussed on heists in style of "Three Leaf Clover" from GTAIV.
-Some characters from GTAIV will make an appearance in V. Niko won't be one of them.
During research, Rockstar took over a quarter million photos this time!
Census information and vehicle sales data were used as a guide to depict the game world.
-Big advances in the game's lighting model with vast increases and advances in draw distance and levels of detail.

Vice City and San Andreas were two of my favorite games of all time. I was really disappointed with GTA IV. I'll definitely get V when it comes out, but my expectations are kinda low. Admittedly, the things I've read do seem pretty awesome!

I never played any of the GTA games. I thought about renting GTA way back, but never did.

Is it for Xbox or Playstation only?

Um, as far as I know the last GTA was for PS3, Xbox and PC; however, it was mentioned that it would only be released on Xbox and Playstation in the spring of 2013. I'm guessing the PC version would be released soon after.

That's different. It's usually the other way around where games are ported from PC to the consoles, but then again I've been out of the console game loop for about 5 years or so.

Not really kid. Sorry, I'm not new to life and impressed by run of the mill sandbox games anymore. That died out with VC.

No RPG mechanics like SA=not interested.

I've never been impressed with a sandbox game ever.

Batman Arkham City is an awesome sandbox game. I always think the GTA games look cool, then I'm bored out of my mind. Same thing over and over (i.e drive here, pick this person up and get chased, get in shootout with gang etc).

I dont buy too many videogames as I don't have a lot of time...but 'Dishonored' looks pretty cool

Not really. Twitch games became boring to me before you were probably even born. If it doesn't make me think (like RPGs and strategy games)=I'm not interested.

I haven't playing a GTA since GTA SA, but this one looks pretty darn good and I will be probably end up buying it. Too bad they didn't get it done before Christmas this year though.

Already did. Nothing special about it. Not even good for RPing. Basically just Ninja Gaiden dressed up as an RPG. But it is better than this will probably be. Sad to say, but Saints Row is better than GTA now.

The whole GTA game type is being overused now = market flooding = lost of interest. You have Prototypes, Hulk, Batman games, Spiderman games, GTA's, saints row, and others im sure Just a lot of big open world sandboxes that are all too similar to keep up the fun.

Pretty much. These were fun when they first came out, or should I say were first "perfected" with GTA 3, VC etc. but now sandbox's are rather run of the mill. Want to make another good sandbox? Bring back Mercenaries and dont **** it up like they did with Mercs 2.
