He isn't a Bengal. There doesn't seem much point to talking about a player that wasn't drafted by a Bengal.

He is a St. Louis Ram.

In the "NFL Draft" forum, I am looking forward to 2013. I don't spend much time looking backward nor dreading/praising decisions.

It is relevant because looking back at players people wanted or did not like determines if decisions correct. I really wanted Martin RB and did not want Jenkins. Seems in hindsight the way to go.

I still would have considered drafting Jenkins in the 2nd round with his talent if we didn't take Kirkpatrick in the 1st. A lot of people didn't want Burfict either and that has worked out well. I know he was undrafted so I will give another example in Carlos Dunlap. 2nd round picked that had a lot of off field issues but hasn't been in trouble since being in the league. Examples both ways and I am fine with our draft but I am not going to lie and say I wouldn't have been fine with taking Jenkins in the 2nd round at the time the draft occurred.

I really liked Doug Martin a lot but I thought we could take him in the 2nd round with the recent trend of RB not being a high drafted position outside of usually one clear cut top guy each year in the 1st round.

And how is Thompson playing for the Bengals in 2013?

RB is the least amount of adjustment to the NFL.
DT is one of the most amount of adjustment.

Remember, Geno Atkins wasn't too great in his rookie year.

Geno was good for a 4th rounder that provided rotational depth. Now he wasn't a pro bowler due to not being played, mostly. I hope they're not screwing Thompson.

Screwing? Probably not. Still deserved to dress above him and they only wanted 3 active DTs. Id like to see 4 with Still and Thompson/Sims

I still wouldn't, yea he had a good game but the guy had and still has major concerns which were made clear by this suspension mentioned earlier.

I still think they made the right choice passing on him, I mean we are talking about having to take him in round 1 because we didn't have the chance in 2.

Pretty much. For his sake, I hope he stays clean and his nose to the grindstone.

I still think he would have been a great pick.

Maybe Kirk will surprise me somewhere down the line, but I'm still waiting. A CB can never learn if you don't let him play.
