No excuse not to re-sign him. This is what we've been saving all that money for right? And lock him up before the end of the season.

Might not be able to under new CBA rules. I think you have to wait for a certain amount of years.

I believe we rolled some cap space into next season so that could absorb a signing bonus easily if we have to.

I honestly believe him and AJ will get paid and here is why. Geno and AJ will be the two guys that the Bengals can market to a national audience. The only thing Mike Brown has shown a willingness to spend money on in FA is WR. As for Atkins he should be one of the best players in the NFL and I doubt they let him get since the Bengals don't come across those very often. I actually feel pretty good about both staying in stripes past their rookie contracts.

I would just give him Geathers' money when he leaves and he should be happy. |

Imagine how much more disruptive he would be with a solid rotation and not taking 82% of the snaps.

He has been disruptive a few times this year. Not "pretty disruptive." Without the Washington game he has been a painfully average NFL DE.

You guys do realize that the reason behind drafting Still and Thomoson last year was because of this. Geno Atkins will be gone after next season. Mike Brown knows his priorities will be extending Dalton and Green. Mike Brown has always went out of his way to get his offense set for the future, but for the defense next guy in. Jonathan Joseph, Justin Smith, Ahmad Brooks, Takeo Spikes, etc. Brown will just low ball him and Geno will walk. 1 year later Geno will be interviewed and will say how poorly and pathetically ran the Bengals organization is.

Welcome back Pat Sims, and the best defensive performance of the year. Now Geno can pin back his ears and chase after the passer. |

How does Sims being back change anything for Geno? It doesn't.

The highest paid DT in 2013 and 2014 is Suh working on his rookie deal, 11.5 mil.
Geno should top that in a few years of his new deal. |

Not a troll buddy. Just telling it how it is. You wanna tell me why Jonathan Joseph is in Houston right now with the Bengals 40 million dollars under the cap. Its because Mike Brown.

Actually as it has been said many times we made pretty much the same offer the Texans did. He left because at that point we had no QB and it looked as if we were heading the wrong way.He was entitled to his choice, but it wasn't all about the money there.
