Nothing or close to it. How did this happen? With ELI under duress, it seems like it would have been a TE kinda day for him. What was different this week than weeks past? Why weren't we vulnerable?
Different scheme, Rey stepping up his coverage game, somebody else on the TE's? Gotta say, it was great to see. I get so sick of wide open TE's running through our D. Being able to stop TE's gives us a way better shot to beat the Ratbirds and Squeelers. Anybody have a good take on what happened? |

On most plays the TE for the Giants is the 3rd or 4th read. By the time on Sunday Eli was getting to his 3rd read he had the breath of Atkins and Dunlap fogging up his vision. Pass rush makes things happen. Simple.

I also read that their TE Bennett got injured a couple weeks back and hasn't been the same.

The TE was dropping passes all day

Maualuga stayed with their TE pretty well from what I saw.
Of course, if the pass rush wasn't there...who knows how our coverage would have looked? Guys like Nicks and Cruz would have probably got open had Manning had another second or two... |

One word, Vontaze.
At least on 2 occasions I remember Burfict punishing the TE at the line of scrimmage, like he was the ball carrier. Zimmer had a helluva gameplan last week. Hoping for the same this week. |

Did anyone not see the passes skipping of their hands?

No.
I saw our linebackers, shortening their arms. ![]() |

.....not even. there were three or four that hit Bennett in the hands with no one around him.

I don't remember all these drops you are talking about. Eli had 17 incompletions with 2 interceptions and 7 passes defensed. I know Cruz dropped one wide open and then another incompletion in the back of the endzone. The only 2 times I saw a player wide open were actually those 2 plays. All the other plays it seemed like a defender was either on top of the play or within a yard or two to make the play right away.

TE usually hurt us, but hopefully it's a sign our coverage by LB has improved underneath.
Time will tell I guess.

Bennett just missed scoring a td.

Tight coverage made a high throw, which prevented both feet down.

While I didn't notice him playing during the Giants Game, Lamur stayed with the TE and receiver fairly well 2 weeks ago too.
