No, it's not, the season not actually being over goes without saying, there are still games to be played. Just like it goes without saying that we haven't been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention yet, but it's def a long shot even after the Giants win.

Still, at 3-5 and with all the issues and losing to bad teams, predictions of not making the post season at that point are not ill founded.

This team is not capable of going 6-1 the rest of the way. The better teams of handled them with ease, and they've shown they're all too capable of playing down to teams like Cleveland and Miami.

That's the only semi-realistic way we reach the playoffs, as the Colts and Steelers have all the tiebreakers against us thanks to our 2-5 AFC record. The only other option is to go 10-6 and I don't see that happening.

The Giants are playing like a below average team right now, they're certainly not playing in their Super Bowl surge mode.

If we lose in the playoffs,then that means Marvin will have put together back to back winning seasons for the first time in some 20+ years for the Bengals. His return would be assured. Realistically,even if the Bengals miss the playoffs at 9-7,he still put together back to back winning seasons and his return is assured.

IMO,the Giants are down now because of the massive distraction of the hurricane. Still,hopefully that W will break that psychological glass ceiling that hangs over this club and continually causes them to underachieve. Has everything to do with the NYG doing their typical slump in November. They will pick it up in December enough to make the playoffs. They have done this in November the last few years.

If I am able to keep track of of the double negatives, I agree. The Bengals need to prove, as the first step on what will be an Odyssey, that they can beat Kansas City.
