Default Planning a vacation

A buddy of mine and I are planning a trip to Vegas in March. I got just under $1,000 saved up. How much more would I need out there. Really want to make this trip happen too, it is a plan if all goes well with the economy and how bad it is. Anyone ever been there? To fly out of Green Bay is so expensive we are planning on driving to Chicago O'Hare cause we got a good deal flying out of there.

I'd plan to stay at least an extra two days because of the monkeys and hangovers.

Vegas can either be the cheapest trip of a lifetime or the most expensive. There's so much free/cheap crap, but you could also blow every bit of that $1k in about 30 seconds if you were so inclined.

A great, cheap place to stay on the strip with a wonderful location is the "imperial palace". It's right across the street from Caesar's and next to the Venetian, but costs about 1/3 of the price. Of course it's not nearly as nice, but you can't beat that location for the price.
Thanks for the awesome sig, Steeler Eater!

$1000 should be enough....depending on what you pay for the flight. Don't know if you plan on gambling the whole time...extra expenses might be some shows you might attend and some sites around there you may want to check out. Good luck. You may never know, but I'd begin by budgeting an allowance each day to spend. I haven't been there for 25 years, but the drinks were free and food was inexpensive.
