Nope not drunk. I just wouldn't be happy to settle for a wildcard spot. I was always taught as a kid to never be happy with second place and never give up. When I didn't get first or wasn't the best in school or other activities, my parents really let me have it. I had that instilled in my head since I was a kid and that gave me the motivation to try harder. That would be like being in school and striving for a D, just to pass the class. Sorry, but I'm programmed to strive for the best. My kids will not get rewarded for settling for just passing either.

The chances of the Bengals catching the Ravens are way slimmer than the Bengals catching the Colts or Steelers. This is why Bengal fans wanted Baltimore to win the game last night. It's beyond me how Captain Coltsfan can't understand this.

I'm with you. I would take a wildcard spot, but I would not be aiming for 1 like these fans are doing. I Hhope they get the wildcard spot along with the Ravens after the Steelers take the Division, just so I can laugh at them after they get the wildcard spot and lose anyways. Then basically all they accomplished is a later draft pick. A win win for the Steelers.

OK, let me say this again. If the Steelers won the game, the Bengals would be 2 games out of the division lead. Why would the Ravens have to lose 4 games for the Bengals to win out and take the division? Wouldn't the Ravens only need to lose 3 games? Stranger things have happened, especially since the ravens D is horrible this year.

I think it's safe to say that all Bengals fans would prefer to win the division. However, due to their own mistakes earlier in the season, the odds would have been long. Yes, they would have been 2 games behind both division leaders had the Steelers won last night, but those two teams play each other one more time. That's one game the Bengals absolutely cannot make up in the standings, so they would have to make up 2, maybe 3 games in the other 5.

The Steelers have 2 left with Cleveland, plus San Diego & Dallas. They're likely favored in all of those games. The Ravens have their 3 toughest remaining opponents all at home - Pittsburgh, Denver & the New York Giants. They also get San Diego & Washington on the road.

Also of note here, the Bengals have already lost the tiebreaker to the Ravens & would have to finish ahead of them. So, if they had lost last night to fall to 7-3, then went only 3-3 down the stretch to finish 10-6, the Bengals would have to win out to take the division.

The Bengals dug themselves a hole that left winning the division a longshot. Nice though it may be to win the North, their most likely path to the postseason is unfortunately via the wild card. The Steelers' loss last night keeps the two current wild card holders with just a single game. I'll take it.

I'd be disappointed, yet it would be a big step for a young team to dig themselves out of a 3-5 hole and trying to turn around what has been a disastrous franchise, maybe setting them up for better things in the future.
