I agree, and I think we have a good shot at a wildcard.

We can't lose another AFC game that's for sure.

Actually we can drop one of the Pitt and Bal game (as long as we aren't competing with Pit for the last wild card) and still be OK for the tie breaker.

Of course they have a shot. They're 5-5 with games against four bad to mediocre teams coming up....Oakland, San Diego, Dallas, and Philadelphia. If they can win those games, they should have a decent shot at making it to the postseason. Hopefully the Colts, Steelers, Chargers, and Dolphins lose a bunch more this year.....

One game out of playoffs? I thought I took you to school in the other thread about how we are two games out of the playoffs.
Get it together, jr.

Regardless, we don't have much room for error since we dropped a few games that we should have won (Miami, Denver, etc.), but this team is playing aggressive and has momentum, so we have to come out, hit teams in the mouth, and seal the game early. The numbers don't say it right now, but we're in control of our own destiny, and this is one of the few teams since '04 (maybe the only one) where I feel comfortable being in that position.

I was looking over the various scenarios and such, and Cincinnati's path to the playoffs is not nearly as challenging as I thought it would be. There are a couple ways where it wouldn't be that hard to take the tiebreaker from other teams provided it came to that, even with our somewhat dismal conference record.
With 6 games left, there's too many possibilities to really map them all out, and who knows what 4-6 team will get hot, but it's looking less and less outlandish to see this team in the playoffs, although I think the division crown is still borderline impossible. Of course the Bengals will have to keep playing like they have the past couple games, and I don't feel very confident about their chances once they got to the playoffs, but hey... can't dance at the prom if you don't wear a dress... errr... something.... what? However, I am superstitious for lack of better word, and I believe it's true that no AFCN team has ever made the playoffs the same year they lost to the Browns. ![]() |

The Bengals play like thye have the past two weeks and there is not a team on our schedule we can't beat. Play like we did against Miami and Cleveland (game 2) and there are only one or two wins. The key will be the next 2 weeks. If we want to make the playoffs, we have to beat teams we are better than and I strongly believe we are better than the Raiders and Chargers. The Cowboys are an interesting team, but I think we are better at home. The Eagles are a train wreck right now so we should beat them. There is a shot we are 9-5 and winners of 6 in a row heading into Pittsburgh. But, a long way to go and who knows what hurdles will be placed in the way.
As far as Steelers and Colts who are ahead of us, I think the Colts are a lot like us a year ago. For the most part, they beat the teams they should barely and lose to the better team (exception they beat Packers). Hopefully, this latest loss will derail some of their confidence. Let's start with Oakland, then one game at a time. This team is young and growing. I can honestly say I have seen more improvement in November from this team than any Marvin has ever coached so that is very encouraging. Let's hope they keep progressing.

Auh hell............... when you put it like that, it gives me so much hope........... why would you even do that??
I was just focusing on one game at a time, just like the team better be.

Looking at the schedules, if we can keep this up, I think the game @Pittsburgh might decide it all.
