Upgraded my OS

I upgraded my Operating System on my computer from Windows Vista 32 bit to Windows 8 Pro 64 bit and man what a difference, it's freaking great.

I had to do a clean install since I went from 32 bit to 64 bit, but it wasn't a big deal. I only had to reinstall SWTOR and my GPU which took about about 15 minutes for the GPU and about an hour for SWTOR. Going from 32 bit to 64 bit took all of 5 minutes. It wiped the hard drive and installed the new OS in no time.

It's great!

Vista to 8 is a big step, especially going from 32 to 64. I'm considering 8, but I'm content with 64 bit 7 Professional.

I got Windows 8 - 64 bit the day after it came out, and basically hated it. See rant in the Windows 8 thread. However after tweaking around a few things, I have got it to use about the same resources as 7 did and will admit it is smoother and faster than 7 even. The start-up time is quite fast actually, and the overall operating system is better. Supposedly it is claimed it is more secure as well, but I will let the techies argue that one out. So far so good actually.

I only switch when I have to. I had a comp with XP, and missed the whole Vista ordeal. Then got this one with 7, and I'm fine with it. I already heard enough to know I'm waiting for the Windows "Ooops, we did it again" version to come out.
