Expendables 2

At the risk of starting another 50 page thread, I want to be clear right up front. I ALREADY rented, and watched it.

What did anyone else think about Expendables 2? I'm not giving my opinion, because, well, we all know what happened a few weeks ago.

I watched 2 minutes of it while logging into my laptop then I saw that the critics hated so I destroyed it with an uzi and refused to awknowledge it any further...so IMO (sort of) the movie ******.

edit :Oh yeah, get a life.

edit: One other thing...take all of the above as FACT

edit: Oh also, does anyone know what I did with my keys?

It was fun. The first part before the opening credits had me worn out. And the ending scene in the airport was priceless. I loved all the "quote switching" they did.

It is one giant high-five to fans of action movies in the 80s and 90s. It was pretty awesome like that.

What happened in the Chuck Norris scene?

Like all movies, I try to go into a movie with certain expectations and rate the movie based on those expectations.

I expected to see a bunch of old people, running around blowing stuff up, and making puns and hints at their respective movies. Wasn't disappointed. I liked it.

I just couldn't believe Dolph Lundgren and Van Damme were singing in it.

I honestly didn't see that "Musical" style angle they were going for in the TV previews.

Nice dance moves though.

Oops. Forgot my spoiler alert!

Well now you know... if you didn't see it yet... yes Expendables 2 is a Musical.

I did too. Sad to see all of them except Willis have had plastic surgery. Stallone, Norris, Van Damme. It's hell growing old.

It also did a good job by playing on the ridiculousness of the manner in which Norris' character kicked some serious arse. I'm pretty sure (this was a while ago after all) there were some missiles and a lot of explosions, and then Chuck Norris comes walking in with nothing but a machine gun. Excellent scene along with the Chuck Norris jokes.

I'll check it out at some point. I love crappy action movies that don't take themselves too seriously. 'Cobra' is a great old Stallone flick to watch with a few beers. Good action and uninetionally hilarious dialogue. When I was a kid, Rambo was my favorite movie and as an adult, Rocky is one of my all time faves.

I gotta say though that Stallone just looks wierd now. Most those guys do. The combination of steriods, plastic surgery and age is not a good one. I also think it's wierd that these guys are supposed to be badasses but they are clearly more into their looks than even the most vain of women...which in my book is the antithesis of badass.

Expendables 2 was Death Wish 5 bad. Terrible movie. And before the troll kids come in, sorry but I have taste.
