To me, the best is made with a pan and oil.

I like the traditional pan and oil method best. Hot air popped is just bland, microwave tastes to greasy and artificial.

Pretty obvious answer, mircowave is just for lazy people who don't like spending time cooking...
like myself. ![]() I don't know if I've ever tried the traditional method, but I'm sure it's better than the other two options ![]()

not sure what it qualifies under.
My dad always used this circular (plug in) pan with a little oil and the kernals the bowl fits right over top with holes to add salt etc...

No doubt, pan and oil. The oil adds a lot of flavor.
Question for everyone- Do you add anything to your popcorn? I use butter flavored popcorn oil. Popcorn salt. And some sprinkle cheese. I can eat microwave popcorn, but I started popping my own in a pan a couple of years ago. It's one of my favorite things to eat now. My fiance's dad bought me an air popcorn popper last Christmas, but I only used it a few times. Once you use oil in a pan, it's hard to eat it any other way.

When I was growing up popcorn was our major snack. We hardly ever ate chips or any other kinds of snacks.
Oil in pan is the best (and cheapest), but I haven't done that in many years. Microwave popcorn is just too damn easy. The big question is, who eats sugar on their popcorn? |
