I think you need to take Chad off this pole and put him on one of potential "most loved Bengal".

#1- Stanley Wilson- A guy who cannot resist hookers and coke the day before the superbowl is a waste of skin.
#2- Kimo Von Olhofen- The shot on Carson killed what could have been a Superbowl run, and I still think it was dirty. #3- T.O.- I just never really liked the guy, he did alright for a year, but I hated him before he came here. #4- Ochocinco- I am the biggest Chad Johnson fan out there, but he changed his name right around the time he was becoming a bigger distraction than a help to the team. Also, getting accused of domestic violence did not help. #5- Odell Thurman- OK, hate is much too strong of a word here, lets just say extremely disapointed. He could have been something special if he could lay off the sauce. On that point, "hate" is a pretty stong emotion for people I do not know, but that is how the poll is worded so I will use it. But really I just do not like them. I do not care about former Bengals enough to actually hate them, that is saved for Steelers and Ravens.

I'm not in to hating much this morning.
But, I would have loved to have seen Ocho, Pickens, Palmer and Dillon all playing together in their primes.

If memory serves correct, Brad had a good career here until 2009. I understand how ridiculous his goof ups were that led to his dismissal. Still, you could be an all pro long snapper and no one would know you untl you botch a snap.

I voted St. Louis. Now, I don't really "hate" the man, or the player, but I remember him(and Graham) being the reason we lost a couple games that kept us out of the playoffs a couple times.
The others played well for the majority of time they were here, and stayed out of legal trouble. That's all you can really expect of a pro athlete. |

The 2003 team had Palmer, Dillon and Chad, but Palmer sat the bench that year.

Don't know about you guys, but I despised Shayne Graham.
I also loathed Ifeanyi Ohalayte. Not a big fan of Rey, but it's not near the level of disgust that it was with those guys...yet. edit: Also was not a fan of Lav Coles, Livings, Ghiaciuc and Roland

Corey Dillion, then Odell (hated that he wasted his talent).

Stanley Wilson would be high on my list. Agree completely, with honorable mention to Odell Thurman. If either cleaned up their acts, there would be a very different history for the Bengals. Though technically I don't "hate" either. Was none too fond of Rod "The Matador" Jones and Artrell Hawkins, but neither approach Wilson or Odell.

My bad.
![]() Akili would probably be my personal choice. He "replaced" Jeff Blake and was IMO the worst QB to ever start multiple games in the NFL. Just look at his stats from the 2000 season: 11 starts- 118-267 (44.2%) for 1253 yards (4.69 per attempt) with 3 tds and 6 ints. A 52.8 passer rating. The Bengals set a franchise record for fewest points scored (11.6 ppg) that year, despite being ranked 2nd in the league in rushing, thanks to Corey Dillon. We were held to a TD or less 7 times and shut out completely 3 times. The 2000 Ravens are often considered one of the all-time best defenses, but I don't buy it because they got to play Akili Smith twice and the expansion Browns twice. Also, for anyone who hates Corey for the "flip burgers" comment, just remember Akili Smith was his QB when he said that. So I don't blame him there.

Btw, I don't think Chad should be on this list. 90% of my memories of Chad are very fond ones.
6x pro bowler 2x all-pro led AFC in receiving an NFL record 4x in a row 10,783 yards as a Bengal Same goes for Dillon, even though the team didn't have as much success while he was here.

Chad is the most beloved and hated Bengal of all time i just had to put him on there because he use to get so much hate on the message boards, when he played for us.

I chose Carl Pickens just can't get over how he trashed the team the city and the fans. Can't pick Carson so much good came from his departure.

I don't get all the hate for Palmer. Guy was frustrated with the team going nowhere for so many years. He just needed to move on. Gave us several good years of leadership and yes, I realize he was under contract, but do you really want someone of that stature on your team when he doesn't want to be here anymore?
Carl Pickens, though... Pickens was all about Pickens and it showed on the field and in the locker room. He was the first Bengals player I can remember that was labeled as a "cancer". Not a good title to be holding. |
