Eagles Release DE Jason Babin

We do this any time a player gets released but is this something we should consider? you can never have too much talent, right?

Wow...the season before last Babin had a ton of sacks. This year he has underperformed.

Normally, I'd shoot this kind of talk down, but you can never have enough pass rushers.

What it comes down to is Babin or Gilberry...

I actually think Gilberry has played pretty well this year but if the price is right can we afford to pass up on a guy like Babin?

There's always the chemistry question. Ours is pretty good right now. Anybody know anything about Babin's personality, or reputation as a teammate?

He signed a 5 year $28 million contract in the 2011 offseason. We won't claim him off waivers and pick that up.

He's a good locker room guy with morals. He isn't afraid to speak his mind as he called out Eagles fans on their poor behavior for saying "vile things" at games. Seems like he's got no big issues though

i dont think anyone will...and that will allow a team to just sign him for the rest of the season and for cheap too

actually if someone claims him off waivers it will only cost the team the remaining 1.64 mil left on his deal so i dunno he might get claimed

I believe that is for this year. I guess they could then cut him after the season.

Hes been jumping offsides alot. We cant afford to bring in someone committing stupid penalties. Thats a big reason why they released him.

Odd move. Has 36 QB disruptions this year, less than MJ but more than Dunlap, and has been fairly decent in the run game as well. I'd pick him up.

He had 18 sacks last year and is nowhere near that this year. That's why they did he.

He has typically been a boom or bust player throughout his career.

He would likely fit in very well in the Cincinnati community.
Can't blame him for not playing well in Philly. No one would right now. Their coach is spineless and they dont have a DC

I tend to agree, after re-signing Atkins alone we will have a dump truck load of money in the DL.

you could pick up babin off waivers only for this for 1.64 mil then cut him next year...low risk high reward imo but i doubt it will happen as well as our DL has been playing
