Tomlin Has Finally Seen The Light.

Mendenhall is now the number 3 back, Dwyer is our number 1 back. It is about time he made this move. So much for the announcers on Sunday stating that Tomlin considered Mendenhall to have the best talent.

When Mendenhall came back this year I was surprised by how much BETTER he seemed than the other guys on the roster.

But since that first game its been nothing but disappointments.

I would not want to be in the locker room this week. The reporters interviewed him and every question they asked he just went off on. They asked him again about Ben and he basically told them to write what they wanted, but the bottom line is if Ben is throwing all right he will go, if not, then it will be Batch. Batch is listed as the starter, subject to change though.

He may think he has the most talent, but it doesn't matter if you routinely put the ball on the ground. This is the first year I've seen Dwyer, and I've been awfully impressed by him though.

Yes him and Rainey have both proven themselves IMO. I doubt that Mendenhall will be offered another contract at the end of the season.

Well if he could go ahead and commit a crime, and drop his value, he could be a Bengal by March, and then we could go another year without drafting an impact RB.

He just demoted him to third string...I wouldn't say that's avoidance at all.

True, but he just did it, it should have been done along time ago, but he was giving him a chance and Sunday was the final straw

Why should it have been done a long time ago? Until his injury this year...not a single one of the other backs showed any ability to do the job better. Dwyer finally got his head out of his arse and realized there was an opening and began to run like he wanted the job until then he was marginal at best.

This last week showed that Mendy was having issues, that being said I would put a lot of the issues last week at Tomlin’s feet. How do you not continue to give the ball to they guy you choose to be the starter that week. He allowed not a single one of the running backs to get in a rhythm. Simply mind boggling to see how often he moved through backs.

Since 2008 he has rushed for 3480 yds in 55 games, that averages out too a little over 63 yards per game with 9 fumbles.

And no one on the roster was able to do the job better as evidenced by there numbers when he was out until this last injury....Tomlin is not going to pull the trigger on this issue until he had hard evidence and the last game was enough for him.

Ok...Considering your argument is that Tomlin should have known prior to this last game, you don't get to claim 9 fumbles.

Coming into that game he had 7.
He had 1 all of last season
He had 2 all of the 2010 season.
