I wonder why Cook losing his starting job due to injury is not getting the same airplay as Alex Smith losing his starting job to injury.

Marvin should probably hold a press conference and announce who the starter will be.

.
Why?

Keep it in-house and just let the players know what's going on.

There's no reason to go public with it and start a scandal and get the "experts" talking about who should be starting and why because then players catch wind of it and it gets their minds off-track and questioning the coaches, which I know that this team is better than that, but why even risk the drama?

Can we please stop with this old line of BS?

Sims makes more than Atkins.

Tate makes more than Sanu.

Anthony Collins makes more than Boling.

Jason Allen makes more than any CB except Hall.

I dont think Center is as pivotal of a position as Quarterback is where indecision can make that much of a difference leading up to a game?

I think bfine was making a sarcastic comment because of how much Harbaugh put his foot in his mouth during his press conference

The team seems to be going with the hot hand.

More Jones and Sanu over Tate and Binns

More Peerman

Adam Jones getting more PRs

Also noticed more Orsen Charles.

I think they will be smart enough to keep Robinson in unless they truly feel that Cook is an obvious upgrade.

Looking ahead to next year if Andre walks and we dont franchise him. Can Boling Play RT? our projected offensive line could be .LTWhit LG Z C Cook RG Robinson RT Boling.

He’s been on the IR since then, but did get designated to return tag.

Cook said last week that his ankle was pretty much healed and he was just waiting for the green light to hit the practice field. Backup center Trevor Robinson has played admirably in his absence, and has the look of a future starting NFL center, but a healthy Kyle Cook is undoubtedly the Bengals best option, and once he gets some time to get back into the flow of things and develop continuity with this o-line, watch out.

Maybe they are at their best because Cook has not been playing. Just sayin'. I sure like Barrett Jones out of Alabama.

Glad drafting a center is not a big priority the way Robinson has stepped up. The only reason I see a need to draft is for depth or if Cook happens to walk because the way it's looking Robinson may be the starter for the rest of the season with the way he's playing. *shrugs*

True. Which I love. This is the team that NEVER seemed to bench anybody regardless of how much they underperformed. See's there's a new philosophy developing within the coaching staff.

I like Kyle Cook, but I think for right now Robinson should start with Cook on the sidelines, sticking with the hot hand is a good idea. Robinson is playing very well right now and it would not be smart to bench him.

An undrafted rookie at that.

Boling was a LT a Georgia, so I think he could play RT.

Yep. The Mikey Brown way. I agree Robinson stays the starter until it is necessary to put Cook in the lineup. And necessary does not mean his $alary.

I have to agree with everyone saying to leave Cook on the bench. Andy has been working with Robinson all year while Cook was out. Chemisty with the center is important, so just leave it be for now. In short, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Just reading and responding as I go through the thread so apologize if my point has been addressed earlier.

We cut Faine and we pay him anyway because he is was on roster prior to week 1. So, I see no way we cut Faine this year.

Cook will start when ready. Robinson has been a good fill-in and may have a good future, but Cook is definitely he starter and the best option. Would much prefer him down the stretch against teams like Pittsburgh and Baltimore

We paid a bandade 2.5 million for 2012 and it is all guaranteed I believe. So, that is why I think they will look elsewhere for cuts when Cook is back. Also, Robinson is a backup guard as well.
