I live outside of the market, how is he doing? Getting many reps? He's been active for a few weeks and I see he has 1 tackle. Is he in playing shape yet? accomidating to our D and the speed of the NFL? Prospects of when he'll start opposite Hall?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Getting some Special Teams reps.... No real reason to rush him into the lineup while they are playing well...

As mentioned above he hasn't gotten many reps, his most were against KC.

I think he will be fine but they are easing him into the role. He has been solid on special teams.

I don't see him going past Newman or Jones this year unless the Bengals are eliminated and Marvin wants to see what he can do. I think it is great this team did not have to count on the 17th player in the draft being our saviour as we have in the past.

I have no doubt he will be a great corner for a decade, but is nice to see them bring him along slowly.

letting him learn from Newman and Clements can only help his career. these 2 have been doing it well for a long time.

well if you are watching any of his games here in cincy the guys really been a solid player...i admit when i heard we signed him i was like oh no not that guy but really he has surprised me, him and hall have been playing decent together

I didn't mean to derail the thread so i'll just add this piece real quick.

Terrance Newman plays decent ball most of the time. But he also seems more prone to "mistakes" than others.

He's Terrance Newman....

He'll play a solid game only to almost cost his team with a stupid late hit penalty.
He'll commit silly play negating penalties
He'll get two interceptions and turn around and allow two TDs

He's Terrance Newman

He'd be a staple at the pro bowl if he ever decided to play to his potential every down. But he doesn't....and I blame Jerry Jones, the second worst owner in the NFL.

lol i can sense your hatred for newman...i just think hes having a good year not great nothing special but solid and dre is waiting in the wings to replace him next year whodey!

This is so incredibly true. He is having an ok season. But to your last point, he had two great picks agains Denver a few weeks ago and turned around and gave up a huge TD that ended up being the difference in the game. I'm hoping he is a one and done here.

Our D hasn't suffered any setbacks with him being worked in so that's positive. He's flashed on special teams which I like to see. So far I have no complaints.

Same, i have seen him mostly on ST's but he came in and filled in well for Newman once.

Like what i am seeing.

I think he is 6'2" BTW, but he does look big out there. Nice to have with these giant receivers and TE's that are taking over the league.

I wasn't very excited about the pick at the time, and I am still unsure as to how great of a CB he will be. With that said I am very impressed with just how long and tall he is. If he is as athletically gifted as others have noted this guy has potential to be an awesome DB.

He's working into the system as best he can for someone who doesn't have the opportunity for a preseason. Don't expect anything from him major this year until late in the year, if at all. I feel like this short season for him is going to be just an orientation of sorts. He'll more than likely be ready to start opposite Hall by opening day next year.

Like others have said hes been doing very good on ST. Ive been watching him on D but he hasnt really been tested much.

hopefully he gets significant snaps against those giant WR's the chargers have on the outside and move Leon, Jones or newman in the slot on 2nd and long or 3rd and long and he's been playing average doing his job when on the field, nothing special as of yet. This could be a breakout gm for Dre if he gets the start because of match up concerns. I would love to see him one on one with denario Alexander who is a future stud if he stays healthy and has rivers throwing him the ball.
