The Bengals struck gold I tell you. We had that horrible year with Palmer which made him want to leave. Because of that horrible season, we were able to pick up possibly the greatest WR prospect since Calvin Johnson. And after alllll that, we ended up getting a 1st and 2nd round pick from the Raiders...wow. We need to thank the football deities for that horrible season...I'm telling you AJ would never have been a Bengals if not for that. I mean i think we all know that.

Cris Carter's jealous hatred of AJ is way too obvious.. I mean I know AJ is still young a still has a lot to prove if we can compare him to Carter, but its almost like Carter senses AJ will be better than he was and he rags on him for it.

^Agreed and it seems like the fact that AJ is a humble no nonsense guy who just goes out and play makes it even worse for him because he has nothing to point at for the reason he believes that but his own biased haters opinion.

We are really lucky to have him on our team, he could turn out to be our best receiver ever. I'll take him over anybody in the NFL. Not homerism, fact.

Cris Carter didn't record a 1,000 yard season until his 7th year in the league, AJ did it as a rookie and did it in 11 games this season.

I have a feeling one day he will make a run at records set by Rice.

I would not trade AJ for any receiver in the game and that is to include Megatron. Calvin is not nearly as fluid as AJ is on the field. AJ is showing to have extremely deceptive speed. It could be because of his stride. We are certainly witnessing something special with AJ and Andy.

Great stuff, although I feel Andy Dalton is asset for AJ and not a hindrance, as I feel your post suggests.

I am one of the old geezers on this board going back to 1967.
There is no question that AJ is the best receiver in Bengals history and is just going to get better and better. Guess what else - same for geno at DT. We may have the two best players in the NFL at WR and DT and they are both great guys, hard workers, and humble. Munoz is the only player from the past who compares to these two. Lets hope AJ and Geno have as long a career and all with our Bengals. |

He's only going to get better not only does he get a lot of receiving yards but he knows how to get in the end zone. He's a complete receiver he can go across the middle or burn you on a post.

the only thing about the rice comparison is that the league today is way more pass focused (not trying to take anything away from a.j and andy).

Re: All consensus #1 reciever!!!
Best receiver since Calvin Johnson IMHO. And he is already competing with him on who is better.

I didn't mean to make it seem like Andy was a hindrance, just that Rice had the benefit of having Montana after Joe Montana was in his 7th year, AJ and Andy were drafted together.

AJ Green is one of the best receivers in the history of the game since Percy Harvin was drafted. He is undoubtedly an all consensus #1 Bengals receiver, although I believe Sanu is the future in Cincinnati. With a few years of good coaching, AJ Green might just become the best 2nd tier Wide Receiver in the National Football League.

Cris Carter is just made because AJ Green is 10x as better as he ever was.
