I just hate to arrest the development. Seems these young guys start contributing and learning and they break. You would have hoped he could get the rest of the season under his belt if nothing else.

It's a lousy break, but teams lose good players during the stretch drive every year. We've got to get tough and get through it.

Step up defensively, like we know we can.

Hawkins is back, and Marvin Jones and Whalen have to get out there and perform. Show people we've got true grit.

Exactly my thoughts.

This really blows though. Not because I don't think we can win without him, but it was legitimately fun watching him play. Hopefully Jones steps up in his absence.

I think the team IS starting to make up for it. Sanu's not the only improvement here, and it's not like we don't have a long way for the team to go. But I'm impressed with how we've hung in there when we were counted out and improved in a lot of areas (running game, TE play, LB play, D-Line play).

We are a really young team responding well to adversity - even if most of the adversity is of our own making.

Dude. It's football, people are going to get hurt. People practice hard and injuries are bound to happen. I'm thinking the Bengals are one of the healthiest (knock on wood) teams in the NFL right now. Look at freaking Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

Also, stop using the word "Bungles". No real fan should use that word as much as you have in this thread.

Marvin Jones is the fastest receiver on the team, but lacks the redzone threat as well.

Looking at things "realistically", losing Sanu for ANY length of time HURTS the Bengal offense.

I have not seen enough of whalen to determine his ability to seperate from defenders.

Marvin Jones is an excellent redzone threat and his college tape shows he has the ability to fight for the ball in traffic.

I think Jones will kick but in the redzone. whalen has not had a chance to really show his game. I agree about Hawkins.

lol....what a dork. Chances at the postseason are gone now that a receiver with about 150 yards is done for the year? I too wanted to see him develop, but he isn't a player that the Bengals just can't live without.

Guys it's not like we lost Geno, or AJ, or Dalton. The one place we actually do have good depth is WR. We all liked Sanu, but we will find a way to make up the production. He hasn't been lighting it up, but has been effective in the red zone. Maybe we see more two TE formations in the red zone now? All I know is this season isn't lost because we lost Sanu.

What's with you and your chicken little complex? You make these comments ALL the time. I called you out about during the Raiders game since according you "the collapse had begun" and it hadn't. Seasons not over. If we had to rely on Grad instead of Andy (or of couse if AJ went down)? Yes. But as much as Sanu has contributed he doesn't make or break the team. We have enough talent to compensate.
