Default Steelers-Bengals Could Share AFC’s 6th Seed

I know this forum is for smack talk, but thought this was funny.

NFL Researchers Discover New Playoff Scenario In Which Steelers, Bengals Share AFC’s 6th Seed

After working through thousands of tiebreaker hypotheticals, scientists in the NFL’s research division reported Thursday that they had discovered a previously unknown playoff configuration in which the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers would share the AFC’s sixth seed. “According to our calculations, if Cincinnati and Pittsburgh are tied at the end of the season with identical head-to-head, divisional, and conference records, it would cause both teams to simultaneously occupy the same playoff seed,” said NFL theoretical analyst Dr. Graham Scheer, explaining that under the scenario, the two AFC North rivals would merge into one massive 106-man roster to play against the third seed in the wild card round of the playoffs.

“Moreover, if what we are postulating occurs, and if the players are able to overcome their animosity and work together, then there would, in theory, be nothing to prevent the combined Bengals-Steelers squad from making a deep playoff run.”

Scheer noted that the only other time a similar situation occurred was in the 1984 season, when the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams famously shared the NFC’s first seed, going on to jointly win Super Bowl XIX.

This guy is new to the smack forum, I'm not sure if he's serious or not...

I'll add something, if that were possible (which everybody knows it is not possible..) how many bengal players would be on said merged team?

Green
Whitworth
Atkins on defense?
That's all I can think of.
Being serious.

Well lets See the Entire Bengals DL and OL are better than the Steelers

Take the Steelers Linebacking Core.. And a Mix and match of the Back field.

Since ben is hurt start andy and give him. Wallace Green and Sanu (more bengals WRs since bengals Q

Gresham and Miller @ TE's

and at this point Dwyer is the only Pitt running back.

IMO the O-line would be Bengal's starters with the only addition being Pouncey at Center.

It's from the Onion, but this would require the coin flip (if all statistical tie breakers are even) to land on its side.

It happened in The Twilight Zone once, and as long as it was on its side, Fred McMurray could read people's minds.

Even if Marvin Lewis could read minds, he would still blow every challenge he makes.

The Steelers were the Steagles in 1943...this scenario would make them the Steegals again.

Its moot anyway, the bengals will not qualify for the playoffs this year. That is a fact.

I'd say it's more of a "fact" that the Steelers won't, seeing as though Big Jenn won't be playing.

Where "fact" means educated guess. Yeah.

In other news trol wildcat was seen chasing little girls from the playground, muttering something that was never even brought to court. Wildcat is currently being held in the county prison awaiting for federal authorities to pick him up.

Dalton would be a good young back up to Ben.

ehh, I'd say Ben's done a pretty good job of that the last couple games. After last weeks performance, I'd say you don't have anyone to throw the ball, run the ball, or hold the ball. Holding the clipboard should be the least of your concerns right now.

You do need him... You have Batch as your starting QB! He cant even throw the ball 25 yards down the field, let alone fit it in a spot, You cant honestly say you would choose batch over Dalton.

I can't think of a single stooler scrub I'd want on the Bengals. Ya'll are sorry, not even gonna make the playoffs. But you contend that only four Bengals could make the Steelers.

Ur funny.
