Not Ocho Cinco, or any of his other alter egos, but just Chad.
I must admit, I loved the guy, but then he got way out of control and no one was able to reel him in. He was ALWAYS awesome to his fans, and still is. And, I have a feeling his ego is a bit smaller after being cut by the Fins. He knows the system, should be in pretty decent shape, and other than his ridic antics, isn't a bad guy. I know he was charged for hitting whats-her-face, but honestly, I'm surprised he went that long without loosing it; she's a mess on her best day... IF he were to come back, be quiet, and be professional, would you support a move like this by the FO? Discuss. |

Why do some Bengals fans have trouble moving on? Let the new class play!

I have had NO problem moving on, none at all. It's just a discussion, not a reality...
He's definitely got some mileage left in him, he's been off the field for a while now. NE doesn't really count, since he rarely saw the field there. He was great when he was here, best years of his career. And while those years may be behind him, who knows what he's got left. I HIGHLY doubt he'd ever be invited back to Cincy, but we're on a roll. Sanu getting hurt absolutely *****, and I feel his going on season ending IR is going to leave a big void on the offense. ![]() |

If Chad wasn't such an attention "hooker"/prostitute/gigolo/lady of the night , maybe. But he is.

I admit Chad Johnson was my favorite player for years but he has lost more than a few steps since then. It would be a waste to bring him in.

He'd look great on our helmets, too.

I'll be honest, I wanted Chad back before the season. Gruden's offense is not New England's. I have no doubt Chad could've learned it, and I think he could've put up 800+ yards in this offense as the #2 wr. It would've been fun to see AJ and Chad on the same field, but that ship has sailed. It's time to see what we have with Marvin Jones.

Exactly right...1st thing he does with Miami is makes himself known and he knew better than to cuss and bring attention to the team and himself by saying..."You see me out there, i'm fast as ****"...He used to be my favorite player before he fell off the map by dropping balls and being scared to get hit. He had some of the best feet in all of football being able to toe tap in bounds.....All that talent was taken away by wanting the fame instead of doing what he was best at.

11,000 yards and 6 pro bowls tend to make him worthy of consideration to some people. I don't think he was the team destroying cancer that some have made him out to be. That said, he was a bit of a side show his last couple years here and I didn't see anyone say yes to bringing him in.

Bring back Chad? Sure, sign him to a one day contract, so that he may retire as a Bengal.

I don't think Chad has lost A HUGE step, he looked good in Hard Knocks. He can still run, he still has unlimited amount of energy. The guy doesn't get tired. I'm not concerned about Chad's feet, the reason he didn't fit in with NE was that he didn't know the playbook, he was doing a much better job in Miami, but they didn't cut him because he couldn't make the team, they cut him cuz he got in trouble with the law. I don't know why people keep writing that he's too old or that he can't run anymore, its not that. It's other things, the mental part! My only concern with him here is that can he pick up the offense? That's it, he just needs a full training camp with us, heck it be nice if we signed him now just so he can get a head start to learn the offense, NOT PLAY this year but give him a head start for a possibility for next year as a TRY OUT.

We did it with Boomer; why not Chad?
I think if the Dallas game wasn't already sold out it would be much more likely Last edited by bfine32; 12-01-2012 at 06:28 PM. |
