Default Most important game this week is pats at texan

We as Bengal fans need the pats to win desparately. so Texans will have to play their starters week 17 against colts.

Not to me, it's Dallas at Cincinnati as far as I'm concerned.

We still control our own destiny even with a loss this week.

Not true. We are currently tied with the Steelers, but if we lose this week, even if we win out and beat the Steelers in week 16 we will both have 3-3 records and have split games against each other I believe, so then it goes to...strength of schedule?

go to espn playoff machine we win tiebreaker over steelers if we win out. I think we win common games tie breaker.

Wrong, Bengals and Steelers are 7-5 but Steelers beat us once....just in case Steelers keep winning, we need to keep winning....If we are both 9-5 when we play at Pittsburg, and we win and go to 10-5 and Steelers fall to 9-6, we move ahead, but still have that Ravens game....So we control nothing at this point....So I say beat Dallas, go to 8-5, 5 wins in a row, Keep that Mojo workin'. ( 9-7 isn't going to get a play-off spot this year, need 10 wins or maybe 11 ).

The simplest math...beat Dallas, beat Phiily, beat Steelers and we move ahead....too early to do the math on how much we need the Ravens game.

Im telling you we still control our own desttiny even with a loss this week or next just not both. Go check espn playoff machine or yahoo playoff generator to check for yourself. instead of just saying im wrong when Im not.

Having a better record going into the last week is controlling our destiny...

It would be the conference record tiebreaker, which is why we can lose to Dallas (or Philly). If we lost to Baltimore and finished with the same record as the Steelers, the Steelers would get in [most likely]. Obviously if we lose to the Steelers and finish with the same record, they would be in.

We have the ability to win out. Just comes down to executing and not making those critical game time errors.

Cowboys are a mess this year but still solid.

Eagles are a mess but have the ability to make wins happen.

Steelers....we know our track record with these guys.

Ravens....if we win the first three they might be fighting to hold onto that home field advantage and it will be a bruiser.

Then ESPN is wrong.....please lord, don't strike me with lightning......Steelers beat us, we are both 7-5, but Steelers beat us, they are ahead and I don't care what ESPN says. Colts and Steelers are ahead of us......Now do we have a chance to catch Steelers still, YES.......

Had Baltimore beat Steelers yesterday, we would be a game ahead of them and in there with the Colts...but that didn't happen, I'm sorry to say. I wish it did.

Lets beat Dallas and get to 8-5 and stay in this thing because I really think we can beat Pittsburg on the rematch. ( I'm not counting on Chargers beating Steelers in Pittsburg this week ).

In my opinion games of importance in week 14:

1. Cowboys at Bengals

2. Chargers at Steelers

3. Ravens at Redskins

and THEN...

4. Texans at Patriots

And I'd switch 2 or 3 depending on what day it is...

and we would probably have a better won loss record if we beat them.

I mean, we can say, if we lose to Dallas this, and if we lose to Dallas that....but lets just beat Dallas and make it alot simpler. .....I think we can beat Dallas in Cincinnati, this isn't the 1960s or 1970s or 1980s or 1990s Dallas Cowboys, they aren't the powerhouse of Tom Landry or Jimmy Johnson days.

Yes. They are AHEAD. But that doesn't mean we don't control our destiny. We can lose to Dallas or Philly and win out and get in the playoffs, regardless of what any other team does. That is controlling our own destiny.

If your point is that currently we are 7th, that is correct.

Well I would also like to go 16-0 and make it a lot simpler, but it's not quite as easy as that. We are just considering the various scenarios should we fall short. Obviously we would rather win the game. If considering the possible outcomes is of no interest to you, that's fine, but I for one find comfort in knowing that even if we lose, it's not a season-ending less.

Uhh we definitely control our own destiny.

If we win out, we're in because we will have a better record than the Steelers.... Think about it.

Yes, we can lose to the Cowboys and still control our destiny.

Both Steelers and Bengals would finish with 10-6 records, but we would have the tiebreaker over them.

How hard will people around here start running into walls if the Bengals end with a winning record but miss the playoffs?

All because of Cleveland...

Sure, if we run the table...if we win out.....So that kind of makes Dallas at Cincinnati somewhat important....Think about that.

Not important if we win the next three games. Think about it. We both would be 10-6 and we have the tie breaker over them.

we do control our own destiny....really???

We win out we are in...we will be 11-5...we have the same record as pittsburgh if they win all 3 but against us will be 10-6 that means we are in....so yes we do control our own destiny to make it to playoffs...

To clinch the division we need help from balt and too win out...

So yes as of now we control our own destiny...lose against cowboys or philly or pitt or balt...no we dont
