I would never draft a kicker. Just pick up a veteran kicker in FA and move on. Kickers can be found anywhere.

Correct.
He never would;ve seen time had Prefontaine niot been injured. Janikowski never made a PB, despite being wildly popular, because he was never a consistent kicker, even if he could make a 60 yarder.

Joe Reedy @joereedy
Other kickers coming in besides Josh Brown per league sources are Neil Rackers and Billy Cundiff

Janikowski was the AFC's starting kicker in last year's Pro Bowl.

I tried to snag a diamond in my rough one time, but the security guard at the jewelry store caught me.

I didn't realize how good he was last year. 31 of 35 including 7 of 10 from 50+.
That is a hell of a season. |

Mhm, like I said; he never made one even with his success.
Last year was the first year.

Injury bug must be going around the league. At least it's not our qb, lb, or de right? I think we will win.
Kicking field goals is not that hard. Not trying to brag but I was the running back and KICKER for my football team in the marines. Before then I had never kicked a field goal in my life and I my first three kicks I tried were 47 yarders and I made everyone. I missed 4 field goals that season out of like 25 so if I can do it I I'm sure a nfl kicker will do just fine. Also I had zero technique, had zero coaching, and took zero reps in practice or before games. |

The bright side is with a calf injury its not going to be season ending. The bad news who we going to cut to keep 2 kickers?

Just seems like an up and comer, wanted to throw my two cents in, and played against him in high school; haha so that would just make it really cool if he became a Bengal.

Yes i watch College football but I was not talking about picking up a rookie kicker - but anyways most kickers are undrafted anyways. I could list out a bunch of them but just too name a few - Adam Vinatieri, Phil Dawson, and Justin Tucker (Baltimore's rookie kicker). For the record are current kicker Mike Nugent was drafted and I would say he is a very average kicker.

Losing Nugent wouldnt be that big of a blow.. Aside from the 55 yarder he hit, he's been kinda crappy.

Good thing we changed the PBS turf since the last time he kicked here. Btw, no thanks on Cundiff. That guy has severe confidence/choking problems. With all the key games we have coming up, I don't want him kicking here.

Cundiff has managed to get booted off the Ravens and Skins. Lets give the no names a shot

We should sign that guy who came in for Nuge in 2010 when he was hurt. Clint Stitser? He was like 7/8 in the little bit of time he was with us.

I thought that was the other kicker we brought in that year, the one who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn

Eh, he's a kicker and easily replaced.
It's not like it he was tough to find in the first place, and as long as they don't go with a leftie, should have zero impact on the team's performance.
