I just don't see Chad as some chemistry destroying cancer. A minor distraction? Sure. Cancer? No. And honestly, I'm pretty sure the leadership on this team isn't so fragile that 4+ games with Chad Johnson could completely and permanently shatter the chemistry this team has. Chad wouldn't be coming here to be THE guy anyway. This is AJ's team, so I just don't think Chad would demand as much attention.

Bengals veterans put Carson Palmer, Chad Ochocinco in rear view

GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Cincinnati Bengals do not appear to be missing either WR Chad Ochocinco or QB Carson Palmer, even though both of them played large roles during recent seasons. Ochocinco was traded to the New England Patriots at the start of training camp while Palmer has said he would rather retire than stay in Cincinnati.

Bengals LT Andrew Whitworth appeared to take a shot at both of them when he said, "We didn't lose much of the leadership of this team, really."

He also said of the quick emergence of rookie QB Andy Dalton and first-round WR A.J. Green: "One thing that is kind of different is we have young players who are excited for their opportunity."

Whitworth acknowledged Ochocinco's steady production before he dropped off last season but said, "I wish at times he could have done more things to help the team rather than just things that help him."

RB Cedric Benson, entering his fourth season with the Bengals, said of Ochocinco: "I didn't really get to know him personally. I knew him as a player. I personally don't miss him, no."

Sure there are people that don't like him and people that do, do we want to put up post of the good things people say about him do we want to put up the good deeds he's done with the community or how he made the Bengals relevant again? Yes there are haters and lovers of Chad but his total goods outweigh the negs. People keep focusing on his negs as if he was a murder.

dang man.......This is one of those cases tho where you want to make up football reasons, personal reasons why you dont want to bring him back....but in the back of your mind you know you wanna see him score one more TD and bring that energy he always brought when he scored. You know you wanna see him make a sideline tippy toe catch for a 1st.....

I wouldn't be opposed to bring Chad back for the rest of the season.
I think he would fully understand his role.
Right now he's a better WR than Marvin Jones or Ryan Whalen.
His body is healthy. He could give this offense jolt.
If Burress and Stallworth can be brought back,why not Chad?

I think he was thinking about it to much. Like skip bayless said "Chad was trying to live up to his all star status and the hype he had created around himself " ..therefore the pressure got to him to where he was thinking to much about making a play and thinking about catching the ball when it's thrown to him instead of acting on instinct and not thinking about it & just playing. Chad is a great route runner, & i'd let him come back If he would come in here with his mouth shut like he did with the patriots and did what he was suppose to then i'd welcome him back. He can still do some trash talkin if that's his motivation, but he has to be a team player and not center the game around him. Play the game like Barry Sanders and let people know you got skills and act like it's nothin new...just be a consistent player.

Bring Chad in for a tryout and see what he's got? We could use him as a #2 if he's still got the skills he used to and gets his head back to focusing on playing the game. If he doesn't show that he wants to treat us like the patriots then cut him or don't sign him. I'm all for signing Chad "Johnson", but i'm against signing "Ocho Cinco"...He could even play in slot with Hawkins, and we have Jones play #2, either way.

I love Chad. Always have and always will. He was a great football player and definitely was entertaining to watch. He helped bring the Bengals out of the dark ages of their horrible losing seasons. He was my favorite Bengals player since he had started. Always had mad respect for him and loved how well he would play.

But, sadly, I think now is not the time to bring him back. I wanted him to retire in stripes, it just never happened. I always imagined what it would be like to watch Chad and AJ on the same field playing together, but I don't think it will happen. And also, I'm not sure how much he has left in the tank. He didn't do well in New England, but I can't base my opinion of him on one bad season compared to numerous good ones.

So I am very skeptical in bringing him back. I wouldn't hate the move, but I also wouldn't like it. If it helps the Bengals win, I say go for it. Just, I'm unsure if there will be a good outcome if they did bring him in. So I'm very skeptical. But I still wish Chad the best and hope to see him in a football uniform soon.

Well there are six people thus far that I am very glad are not making personel decisions for this franchise. I may have been the biggest supporter of Chad while he was here but the Ocho ship has sailed and then sank faster than the Titanic.

You're better than this, FiK. There's never been a problem with Chad's hands. Also, Andy Dalton is a damn good QB.
