Roger Goodell is slowly but shirly ruining the game of football. Instead of an onside kick the opposing team will have one opportunity to gain 15 yards to get the ball back. does Goodell have a contract or something or can the players vote to get him out of office soon. Dont know how much longer I can take this guy. |

that might be the only way to get Tate to stop bringing the ball out from the goalposts

anyone that thinks this is a good idea is an idiot...
This would give a chance for a team to never let go of the ball. Stop all the tate hate. hes probly gone next year and you cant make a play kneeling the ball.

Wow...Punting from the 30 is much worse than kicking off from the 35

its not that its the fact the team could just go for it every time instead of punting.

Yeah, I could see the Rugby style play, where they continue to lateral the ball down the line, until the blocking sets up a run, become part of the game.

Current statistics indicate that the NFL as a whole is less than 33% 4th and 15 or more. I doubt that many teams will trade that type of field possition for those type of odds very often.

Hmm, maybe they could ice the field over and use a stick to knock the ball down the field into a net.

Hell almost 90% of the balls fly out of the endzone now so this would be bring back more violent hits than eliminating them

My major problem with this is the team going for it on that 4th and 15 will have just scored and already have momentum, defense is probably still tired from the last drive, and all the offense needs is a defensive holding, pass interference, or roughing the passer penalty and its their ball. They are making it way too easy on them. I think this is an incredibly stupid idea.

Still worried about player safety and still scheduling Thursday night games. Hmmm

Back to this point most kick offs are touch backs now changing to punts would cause more violent hits than leaving it alone.

I'd agree with this if Goodell would agree to let us watch him try to return no less than 10 kickoffs himself.

I don't see where the article indicates Goodell is truly considering this. Instead of going after the moron for acknowledging this idea for further review, look at the idiot who thought the idea up.
I find it odd Schiano came up with this ridiculous idea but he feels it's safe to send his defensive linemen taking cheap shots at players in victory formation. |
