Great in some cases but most of the time they are not a good indicator of all around play. I don't care if you go 99 yards on every possesion. If you can't get that 1 yard at the end you are worthless.
Stats aren't the end-all, but they are generally a good indicator. If someone says Tebow can't play in a normal offense and the stats suggest otherwise, I tend to go with the stats. Stats aren't biased. I refuse to believe that a QB that can lead a comeback in his rookie season by throwing for 308 yards (in a normal offense) is incapable of being a backup somewhere in the league.

Btw, aren't you a Steelers fan? You don't think Tebow > Leftwich? Leftwich has a wind up that is far worse than Tebow's, and he looked atrocious in that Chiefs game. Total statue in the pocket too.

I have never been a Leftwhich fan mainly because of his windup and mobility.

Saying that, he has done well with the Steelers. You can't judge his performance in the Chiefs game because he was hurt for the majority of that game since his dumb arse tripped over that white line someone maliciously placed on the endzone.

But if someone came to me and said "hey what do you think of Leftwhich as a #2?"

I would say no.

Is Tebow better than Leftwhich? Probably. Do I wan't him as our backup? No

Well there you go. Tebow > Leftwich, and Leftwich still has a job. Leftwich probably isn't the worst backup in the NFL either. All I'm saying is that Tebow has enough skills to be worthy of a backup job somewhere for a long time. That probably won't happen though, because of the circus that follows him.
