Peerman & Dre were extremely valuable in both KO & Punt Coverage teams. Peerman is a blocking beast on both return teams. Nuggent has Ice-Water in his veins when it comes to FGs. Without Dre on teams, Andrew 'Baby Hawk' Hawkins will be used less as a Slot WR because of his Gunner skills on both coverage teams. Remember that dallas is a 'Skills-First' team (Thus the bad O-Line). Field Position is a very very very very very serious concern.

Mike Nugent has been underwhelming this season IMO.

I guess the 55yd record tying FG against cloak-land was due to nervousness.

19 of 23 (83%) with all 4 misses over 40 yards?

Not at all. He's 19-23 and he's only had 2 attempts of 50+ yards. Pedestrian numbers for an NFL kicker.

NUGENT.
I didn't say I wasn't a fan, I just think that his production is easily replaceable.

looks good.
my only complaint is his lack of power on kick offs.. But then again if everything went out of the endzone then they would always get the ball on the 20 kicking it to the goaline gives us a chance to pinn them deeper.

I actually thought that was part of the strategy, because coverage was usually excellent.

I agree with that part. It seems like when the situation dictates, he has no problem putting the ball through the end zone.

Dude could be 0 for 40 (0%) and people would love him. Why? He went to ohio state.
But overall, I think he's done a good job.

correct me if Im wrong but 3 of the 4 were much needed Fgs...he botched them and we lost momentum???
Not all his fault but hes done a decent job, now he just needs to hit one when we absolutely need it

]How about the one he missed just before that, he is not automatic by a long shot. |

I liked Nugent's mentality and the fact that he at least gave you a chance to make the long ones. Hopefully Josh Brown comes in and gets the job done though. And hopefully we score lot's of TDs and only need him on extra points and kickoffs.

But then again if everything went out of the endzone then they would always get the ball on the 20 kicking it to the goaline gives us a chance to pinn them deeper. Is it a lack of power, or maybe it is the call of the ST coach, favoring a kick with more hang time? Just saying, something to consider, since with the additional yardage even Graham is able to kick touchbacks. Maybe there's someplace to check those numbers, touchbacks versus kickoff hangtime, and check the correlation?. Agree with others that his numders are very average and not worth clinging to, especially if Brown shows some mettle.

We thought that when we let Graham walk. We all know how that turned out.

I'm not as concerned about losing Dre on STs as I am about losing Peerman. Who's going to try to stop Tate from being an idiot now? Not that Tate listens to Peerman, but at least Peerman tries to stop him from bringing out the ball from the end zone when he shouldn't.
Losing Nugent really stinks though. ![]() |
