....this kid can't stay healthy if his life depended on it and i would like to see us trade him in the offseason.You can't help a team if you can't stay healthy and i've had just about enough of hearing about this kid injuring himself. He was just activated a couple of weeks ago and now he's already hurt again?

I don't think we should trade him, but i seen him play against the Chiefs & he played 10 yards off the WR giving up 2 catches from loose coverage giving up 10+ yards.. He needs to be at the line jamming the guy...I'd give Kirkpatrick another chance until he actually sees the field for a bit...I would like to draft Xavier Rhodes from Florida State though, i gurantee he'd start.

I understand the op's frustration with Dre being unable to stay healthy..but to consider a trade at this point is downright stupid... Theres no way any team would part with any player/pick for a player unproven and cant remain healthy...This ones on Marvin...To somewhat rush him back and throw him in on Special teams..??..Not so bright,,

Was not a fan of his before draft. But from what little sample he has given on the field. He looks to be promising to me. Certainly is a swift and fluid runner.

Honestly, I didn't like him either, but it was a need at the time. I still think Kirkpatrick has a LOONNNGG way to go before he starts opposite Leon. In fact, I'd be surprised if he starts next season even. Hard to get the reps in if you're always hurt.

Wasn't a fan before the draft, and I thought him playing for 'Bama was a big reason why he got drafted so high. Casey Hayward was the guy I wanted, but can't change the past. I just hope Dre can stay healthy after this and show everybody why he was worth a 1st round pick.

Im pretty they are told hpw far to play off. Some plays are supposed to be played off and some plays youre supposed to try and jam

lol @ trading 1st round picks after their rookie year tho. There are probably ALOT of GREAT players that wouldnt be on their current team if their team traded them because they got hurt their rookie year

I dont think Lewis rushed him back AT ALL. If Marvin activates you, he believes and KNOWS you are 100%. Dre getting hurt again was all on HIM

I think the pick was fine, taking CB and Guard in the first round was the right SAFE play. Gilmore was off the board already and Corner back was a big need considering they didn't know how Leon would recover or if Newman could bounce back. Kirkpatrick will be fine, Consider this season like a leanring/ red shirt season. Plus he will now have the whole offseason to bulk up. Kirk plays the run well and he can cover. He was a good solid corner in a very tough SEC. With Newman and Pac man up for contracts, look for Kirk, Ghee and Prater to have some serious competition. People forget about Ghee who probably had the best camp of all these guys. Give Kirk time, this stuff happens.

For whats its worth I was leaning more towards the Bengals taking a guy Like Melvin Ingram or Mercilus or even Chandler Jones because of Geathers and MJ's contract stuff. Then taking the Guard with the 2nd 1st round pick. I was also very high on Janoris Jenkins even though all the issues and he has been awesome. I thought they would go Ingram, DeCastro/Zeitler and then in 2nd round a guy like Casey Howard. Either way the draft was good.

The picks in question I think is the Devon Still or Brandon Thompson picks... Not too sure why they went DT back to back and it makes it even more weird now since both players have been inactive so much??

Dre got a concussion last week. That doesn't make him fragile. I think hes gonna be a good addition in years to come.

Many Bengals fans say that we should be more like the Steelers as an organization. Well, this is how the Steelers do it. They typically don't force their 1st round picks into action. They don't have to. They play them when they're ready. From the same lens Lawrence Timmons should've been traded bc he did not contribute as a rook. Same with Ziggy Hood, David DeCastro, Heyward, etc. etc. But the Steelers won't trade those guys bc that would just be flat dumb.

Yeah, they drafted this Troy Polamalu guy in the first round several years back, and he did nothing his rookie year. Anybody ever hear what happened to that guy? Is he even still in the league?

The injuries with Kirkpatrick are frustrating, but a concussion on a ST's play is just one of those things that happen. We need to see what the kid has with a full TC under his belt. From what I've seen of him in the base defense, he looks like a talented player that still needs some polish. Trading him now would be silly, especially when the only type of deal we would get is a Taylor Mays type deal, maybe a little better.

no i think Kirkpatrick is a keeper , especially with the CB's we have on this team . lets give him an off season to get healthy and a full pre season next year . i mean DeCastro got hurt for the Steelers , was he a bad pick too ? injuries are a big part of the game . the NFL is a very physical game !!

Hood is still one of the 3 worst at his position since his first snap.
