I'm still delivering Pizza's errryday. I've recently gotten a job with Green Umbrella doing sustainable energy construction design. Should be pretty sweet. Also....still in the ol' college. Hopefully, when I'm done I can quit that pizza job after maybe 5-6 years. Student loans blow!!!!!

Attorney. I have worked for private firms and was even a prosecuting attorney for a while, but I am currently with the State Public Defenders Office. I love it because of my boss. As long as he doesn't get any complaints he doesn't care if I am in the office or not, and I do a good enough job that he doesn't get any complaints.
For an attorney my age (50), I don't make a lot of money (a little over $90K), but I can live very comfortably on that here in rural East Tennessee. I also have a little income from some rental property I own. |

As a Public Defender it is 100% criminal defense.

I work primarily as an English teacher abroad (Brazil at the moment.) As extra income, I take jobs translating books/papers/essays/manuals or working as an interpreter.
Currently on vacation in the freedom-est (or we like to say) country in the world though, so I'm vagabonding in the free world. |

These days, I sit back, relax, spend time with kids and grandkids, and enjoy the benefits of being retired from the military.
I spent 26 years (30 counting the Academy) in the USAF, and I retired 12 years ago. Since then, I've been enjoying not having to be somewhere every minute of the day.

I'm a trucker for Wendy's. I put boxes away and just mop floors. Real easy, just not that great hours.
I'm also a sports announcer for Penn State basketball. Easy job, but also not enough hours or anything. And actually, this just happened last week, I am starting my own church. I'm getting help from a Dream Center and making this church a 24/7 church. So far, we've fed the homeless, give backpacks of food to kids who don't really have food once they go home, doing a school assembly for a public school, racked people's yards, and we donated money to a family who's 16 year old son was shot and killed 2 weeks ago. I'm excited about the church, but it's been a lot of hard work. It doesn't pay yet, but January we are having a grand opening and everything. I would be the youth pastor of the place, although, the church may be solely focused on the youth. I'm unsure about that. I have a meeting tomorrow about it.

Well pre-2008 economic melt down, I sold luxury, custom, Cypress log homes on commision...and with our log packages selling for a low of 50k and high around 1.5 million I did pretty well. Post 2008 I was laid off after six great years..... no hard feelings though, a wonderful family owned company has nearly went bankrupt as a result. After collecting unemployment for nearly 2 years, I was lucky enough to find a job working for a well known retail store selling tires and batteries. <no not Walmart> Now, I know I will never get rich, or even come close to what I was making but I am happy to have a decent job. Times are tough, and when I am getting ready for work I just remind myself of this very simple thought "I don't HAVE to go to work today, I GET to go to work today". Makes my job alot easier just by reminding myself of that.

By day, I run my own computer repair business, by night I work as an IT Analyst for PACCAR at Kenworth Truck Co. I'm also a college student (again) and still find plenty of time for husband/father duties.

Up until May this year I was a a tax accountant for Rosetta Stone Inc. specializing in domestic and international indirect taxes. Essentially, I prepared and filed sales/use tax, VAT, GST/HST, and property tax returns in 37 states, Canada, Ireland, UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands. I also created the journal entries for it and did the account reconciliations.
Now I work in what is essentially an accounts receivable department at a university. It's a step down but I get paid better and have better benefits (Rosetta Stone's pay scale was crap below the VP level and they had just switched to some ****ty benefits). I am the in charge of disbursing all that loan money and handling all the scholarships from outside organizations. Being the only person in the office with any sort of accounting background (including my supervisors) I have been put in charge of the reconciliations in the department (I just had my 6 month review by the way, if that tells you anything about how things were in here) and have been made the liaison to the rest of the finance division because "I speak their language." |

Design/Build project manager, education in mechanical engineering. Since the financial misery of 2008 began, most of my work has been managing small capital and expense projects at various chemical plants from Louisville to Chicago. I travel way too much but have decent pay and benefits. Could be lots worse.
