Great guy, great attitude. Unfortunately I think his nickname should be Siamese......couldn't get separation.

I tribute his getting cut to a lack of nfl talent.

Yep. lets all smirk at an undrafted free agent who became a starter in the NFL.

Another project WR that couldn't develop to a pro-level.
At least coaches didn't take 3 years to view. |

Yeah but at least they have the kid a shot. He came in did everything and more they asked him to do. I was all for him getting a chance to see if he had the talent. Great to see guys like him get a chance, but it's all nice to see better production on the field.

Yes Fred, let's... Only the rubes fell for that. Everyone else noticed that we drafted two WRs. All the Binns hype was basically saying "He will be good enough until Sanu and/or Jones are ready".

Man the talented receivers that played under Brian Kelly at UC sure aren't panning out. Mardy Gilyard can't stay on a roster and now Armon Binns get's cut.

No reason to be negative or mean. He seemed like a good kid, to bad it didn't work out. I wish him nothing but the best for the future, hopefully he can catch on to another team and finds success.

Yeah. Regardless of the message board types who are all "I told you so" there was no way to really know.

The irony of it all is that the Bengals are now cutting the type of players that they used to pick up to fill out roster spots, and supplying the lesser teams with roster stock. I didn't create this thread with malice in mind, but rather as a playful jab at some of those that had posted so much about how great Binns was going to be.

Re: Armon Binns tribute thread
Not many skilled position players from U.C. makes it in the real world of football.

Good luck Binns. Thanks for helping us the last couple years. I hope he ends up back on the practice squad.

"Do you people honestly think you know more than the coaching staff? Do you honestly believe they would go into this season without finding a decent number two option? You people make me laugh. The coaching staff has put faith in this guy so obviously he is the best evarrrrrrrrr!!
He has worked hard and I bet you he will show all of you what's up, just like how I said my man Dan lefevor did. You are all stupid. Go me." -OSUfan |

You're missing the point, Sunset. The OC and position coaches wanted him on the roster last year. If Marvin Lewis wasn't such a bonehead, Binns would have started last year and would be a major stud at #2 WR right now. Marvin Lewis needs to be freaking fired!!!! Where's Maurice Purify when you need him?

We should be smirking at the people whose plan was to take an undrafted college free agent, practice squad player without a single NFL snap and make him the Week 1 starting #2 WR of 2012. That was a brilliant plan which worked out wonderfully.

I agree 100%. Binns is simply a modestly-talented, but hard-working and quiet guy who has done everything asked of him by the organization without complaint up 'til now. He should not be vilified because coaches/management chose not to address the team's most glaring need in the offseason with a proven player.
