We can all play the what if game, but as for me, if Sanders had Emmitt's line and offense, he would've retired with 20k yards and be universally considered to be the greatest running back, ever. Emmitt still deserves his HoF induction, and was a tough runner in his own right. As for LaVeon Bell, I'll be surprised if he runs sub 4.6. The telling stat for him will be his 10 yard split, and 3 cone drill. I also don't think he'll weigh 240, more like low 230's.

I'm with you and Bfine. I think the guy is underrated because he's not tall and hits hard. But, and I haven't seen that much of him, all I've read leads me to think he's smart and hits hard. Sounds like a good SS to me! |

Arthur Brown is better than any ILB not named Manti Teo in this draft. He's much better than Skov or Ogletree. I'd rather have him than Ogletree, who is still learning the position and is likely a 4-3 Will in the pros.

Montee seems like he would be excellent in a zone scheme.

Maybe so but we need a homerun threat in this offense. We don't need another guy like we already have.

We have no one with the tools that Montee Ball has. We have a short yardage specialist forced into the bell cow role. Ball brings everything to the table except 4.4 speed. Watch that Nebraska game and you will see a player who runs hard, has good vision and an excellent cut and go.

If we have a Montee Ball type of back on this roster then I'd like to know who. Maybe Herron could be but we haven't seen much of him yet. I wouldn't mind drafting Ball as long as its in the 3rd or 4th. I believe hes listed as a 2-3 on most boards but I could be wrong.

this comes from nfl.com 2013 draft grades. Strengths Reliable, hard-working zone back. Presses the line of scrimmage, and has good vision and feel to find the cutback lane or cut away from penetrating defenders. Stays patient behind pulling guards and fullbacks, has enough quickness to break off a run if the space is available to him. Lowers his pads on contact, keeps his legs moving to gain extra yards against glancing blows. Effective cut blocker in the hole and willing to stand up to blitzers when protecting the quarterback. Natural receiver, adjusts to throws over the middle and in the flat, continues downfield fluidly. Sidesteps or stiff-arms oncoming defenders in space after the catch. Weaknesses Possesses average overall size and straight-line speed. Lacks another gear to accelerate once in space, and doesn’t have elite agility to elude quicker defenders. Does not have pure power to move piles or free himself through better tackle attempts. Cited in May 2012 for trespassing after failing to leave a porch when asked during Wisconsin’s annual Mifflin Street Block Party. Injured after being assaulted by multiple assailants on campus in August 2012. NFL Comparison BenJarvus Green-Ellis |

I think its more like BJGE is playing like Montee Ball right now
![]() The comparison I see most frequently in regards to Montee Ball is Curtis Martin.

Which does fit IMO. I thought Lacy reminded me of Michael Bush at Louisville before all the injuries.

I like Lacy but his injuries kind of worries me. I still think we should draft 2 RB's and let scott and peerman go.

It is hard to find a rb that is fast and durable. There is a reason almost every NFL team has a guy that is 220 lbs. plus and runs over 4.5 as their starter. To be a starting running back and be able to carry the ball 25 to 30 times a game, you need some bulk. You need it for blocking. You need it to deliver punishment. There are lots of potential home run threats out there, but most are change of pace or 3 rd down backs because they can't last a 16 game schedule.

He plays in Cleveland. Teams dont try to stop Weeden. They stack boxes and his OL isn't that good on the inside.
