Not a Gale fan personally but when that is my only real gripe, it's a very good draft

I like his size and speed off the edge and I think he could play some LB also.

I assume you have us not re-signing Michael Johnson?

I would be under this assumption as well. I would think we would re-sign MJ and/or Gilberry. Gilberry isn't starter caliber, but he has performed quite well for the salary he was signed for. I personally would like to see Gilberry back for depth.
If MJ is re-signed, I cannot see two DEs picked within the first four rounds. Then again, I didn't think we'd sign two DTs early either, but we did. So who knows... |

I have us resigning MJ. We're going to lose some DE's. Geathers should be gone and Dunlap is not real consistant. We may even lose Gilberry. Adding 2 good young pass rushers is not a bad thing, I think Gayle could even play some LB too.

Oh I thought Mock meant making fun of people trying to predict the un-predictible. My bad. Carry on.

I know the fans don't, but the coaches love Geathers. He's under 30 and we have tons of cap room. I think he will be back.

I think it's more Marvin than the others. If they can get him cheap I would think about possibly keeping him.His production has not been all that good.

He is ok for a back up I guess. He currently ranks 59th of all DE in tackles. And is ranked 56th among all DE in sacks. So there he is. Not starter material, old, and grossly overpaid for his production. I would much rather see him replaced with a young guy who will improve over time, not slide into retirement.

I like the Okafor pick, but if CJ Mosley is there for us in the first I would rather have him. Im torn on the Galye pick... Hes not bad for a lower round pick that could eventually turn into a real depth rotational player..
I think we have to resign MJ, but hes a FA so who knows how it will turn out. I dont think MJ could be a starter on a team with a defense better than ours so that might keep him here. Our DE's are all best suited in Zims rotation, anywhere else where theyre asked to play 80 percent of the defensive snaps and you could see a significant drop off in performance. Geathers is our best DE against the run, stats dont show it but he has better lateral movement than our other DE's. I dont think he's at risk for release. Gilberry has turned out to be our Rucker this year, but may not resign and head for a better opportunity. |
