honestly, since 2003 what is our record against rookie QB's? I haven't really kept track but do remember that we don't do so well against a rookie for some oddball reason. We got knocked out of the playoffs by a rookie. Now we get to a play against a rookie during a playoff race. I'm trying to be optimistic but deep down inside of me knows we stink against rookie QB's.
So what is our overall record against the Rooks? And who were the teams/QB's? |

We tend to make them look like Elway

It's such a shame too:
Weeden: Week2- 114.9, 70.3%completions Week6- 92.7, 58.6%completions Tannehill: Week5- 92.6, 65.4%completions RGIII: Week3- 90.4, 61.8%completions Part of that could be the lack of tape on these guys, but that's not really an excuse. Most of the reason why these QBs have higher ratings is because they have high completion % against our secondary. Whatever the reason though, it needs to be fixed. |

Don't forget last year. Our top 7 D made a star out of Yates.... Twice.

Its ridiculous how we got owned by TJ Yates... a 3rd string rookie.

He put up nearly 400 yards against the Bucs. Do they have a crappy secondary, pass rush, or both? Please don't tell me they're good

I also want to know, because I can't accept a L here. We usually make average teams looks like the 90's Cowboys

Buccs have a terrible secondary..and not much of a pass rush. They do play the run well though.

The Bucs pass defense is equivalent to the Raiders run D if that helps any.

Exactly. Letting rookies complete an average of 64% of their passes is unacceptable. The soft coverage isn't helping either. There should be way more press man so the young QBs are forced to throw into tight windows.

I agree, rookies should be forced to think and react quickly which should result in very good things for the defense. Give any NFL QB too much time to throw and he will kill you.

Awesome research....REP for you. I added the completion percentage and QB rating to your list. WOW, the overall record against rookies during the Marvin Lewis Era is quite scary. hopefully they can get a win and be at .500 against rookies. Also, just seeing McCoys stats against us....would he be a good pickup for a backup if he's available and Grad is gone? |

Not our record against them, but an interesting article about this topic from the AFC North blog: http://espn.go.com/blog/afcnorth/pos...engals-trouble

Brock Berlin came into the league in 2005 as a Dolphin. He just didn't get to play until 2007
