Thursday night games

im not a big fan of these thursday night games and id like to hear what you guys feel about them...most of the games ive watched have been really sloppy games do in part because teams lack the ability to prepare for the up coming team...i know we can and should win this game but it could be a grinder and a little ugly...any thoughts?

As long as no one has to do a Monday nighter then a thrusday nighter i wont complain.

i looked at this as the only plus this week really...so ill take it aswell...but only if we win thursday lol

I know I'm basically Joe Fanboy here but I'm all for the Thursday nighters, even if the quality takes a dive for the sake of entertainment.

Mon--->Sun feels like an eternity to just listen to talking heads, plus, without NFL ticket this is one more guaranteed Bengals game I get to actually watch a year, not to mention some much-needed exposure for our rising stars!

No, we don't, we need to beat the Steelers and the Ravens. This game means nothing unless we hope to win the division or the 5th spot.

Yes, we need to win 2 out of 3, but the games we can't lose are the Steelers and possibly the Ravens game. The games we could afford to lose were/are against Dallas and the Eagles.

I do agree that these games have been sloppy however, its a chance for every team to play for the nation on primetime.

If we win Thursday , we will be ahead of the Steelers, until Sunday, then they lose, we will be on the way, just have to beat them at their own place.

We need to be able to prepare in a shortened period of time and we need to be able to perform on the big stage to finally be considered a legitimate team, so I'm ok with it. In fact, I'm actually happy with it because all eyes are on us and it's a proving ground for this team and for this franchise as a whole to show the world that we're here.

I love that we're the only team on because the entire football world will be watching.

I do think that our small medical staff and training equipment make this harder on us than for other teams, but this is something that we need to be able to overcome because it's not changing, so this is big.

We need to man-up and show up for this game with fire in our hearts.

I'm only a fan of Thursday night games if we win. If we lose then I will blame the NFL for making us play a game on such short notice and not caring about safety. If we win I will welcome the fact we have 10 days rest before Pitt.

I like having a game this Thurs because I am still ****** about last Sun. Be nice to have another game so I can forget the Dallas debacle. I still get mad thinking about it so I am happy they play on Thursday this week.

I'm not sure the long rest will help that much. We haven't been great coming out of bye weeks during Marvin's tenure.

True, but we almost beat the Broncos after our bye this year, so I have hope that we are improving in that area.

A lot of players say it is hard to recover in time to play Thursday, and i can see their point.
I'd move it back a day to Friday night. It still would draw good ratings.

I'm with ya. I'm still shaking my head in disbelief that they blew a TOTALLY winable game.

Heck half of the time our offense had a short field and still couldn't put it in the end zone.

A win this Thursday would help me get that debacle out of my mind.

NFL Live (might have been Sportscenter) thinks that we need to win every game because they think that the Jets will win out, which I don't see happening, but we do need to take our destiny by the horns and plow our own path.

I love them, nothing better than coming home from a hard days work and looking forward to the NFL at night, hard to wait 6 days for the NFL
