Andre Smith RT-He is shaping up to be one of the best RT in the league pay him to anchor the line for years.
Micheal Johnson DE-Our best DE IMO
Rey Maualuga ILB-I like Rey as a leader but he clearly isn't the player we thought we had when we drafted him. Although his play has improved as of late he still is a liability I see us bringing him back cheap in a back up role and rotating him in at all positions to keep our backers.
Andrew Hawkins WR-A huge part of our offense he is a must resign Starting Slot
Adam Jones CB/KR/PR-Should be a easy sign, and equally important.
Terence Newman CB-A depth and leadership move he should be cheap
Wallace Gilberry DE-A pleasent suprise this year a good rotational guy I think he could be a 7 sack guy every year.
Pat Sims DT-A great part of our rotation when he is in we win!!!

Vontaze Burfict-He is a good WLB but I think he is better suited for MLB he is strong, instictive, and fast enough to play on the inside.

Something tells me that this team will overhaul the defense this year and I truly hope we balance the power of this team. My gut tells me that one of two positions will be drafted with multiple picks as last year with defensive tackle. I hope that its the LB spot but it could also be at DE. I just think they double dip. Marvin has stated in the past that the defense was neglected in prior drafts. The only spot I feel is an off year is the DE position but it a good year for LB with the extra 2nd.

I see Rey coming back as the starter. It's not like ML to tell us how good someone has been all year and then relegate him to the bench. I think ML thinks Rey is doing a good job. I would love to see us with a new MLB next year; Burfict or someone else but someone that reads and makes plays

I agree but this wasn't a contract thread or anything like that it was players I would resign and why and my draft. Obviously I want Atkins on this team forever

I assume you forgot that Gradkowski will also be a FA at the end of this year. Would you prefer to re-sign Gradkowski and keep him as a $2mill+ backup QB?

I personally think that if we were to re-sign Smith and MJ and go with the draft you have, we can let Gradkowski and Howard go and use that money for Byrd. I personally would rather see Robinson backing up Dalton anyway.

I also think that if Maualuga comes back, it would be as a starter. Maualuga in the middle, Burfict and a draft pick on the outsides. There are teams with worse MLBs that would pay Maualuga to be their starting MLB. If Bengals want him back, they will have to keep him as their starter.

ya I forgot about Grad I would let him walk or sign him much cheaper. As far as Byrd I think we will free up a lot of money with Geathers, Clements, Gradkoski, Lawson, and others

He absolutely has earned an extension. But the simple truth is why would we want to pay a guy 10 million when he is under contract for 575k. Stupid business decision imo. Take care of the guys that are actually free agents. And hopefully get Atkins his extension midway through next year. If not the franchise tag is coming.
