Official Bengals @ Eagles Game Day Thread

The Bengals visit The City of Brotherly Love to play the Eagles on Thursday Night Football on NFLN. Post all thoughts on the game here.

It's got stars in the title, that is proof it is official.


Bengals defense comes in with something to prove and is all over the Eagles offense. Expect 4+ sacks.


The offense will come out more balanced and run on weak Philly D, though they will likely have better luck attacking through the air as the Eagles are second worst in the league defending the pass.

As we see, the Bengals are terrible at defending against the TE, 28th, so containing Brent Celek will be the key to victory. I expect a big day from AJ Green, as Philly is 31st in the league at defending a team's #1 WR. They are 21st against the #2, and 28th against the #3WR as well so the passing game will be alive and well.

AJ Green had a couple drops last week. I'm betting he has a HUGE game. I actually think we win this game easily, setting up an EPIC battle at Pittsburgh. One that will give me high levels of anxiety for 4 straight hours.

After the Cowboy debacle, everyone is worried...Listening to the RIDICULOUS conversations at the gym every morning is driving me mad. "Bengals ****." "They can't beat anyone. Garbage team."


Only ONE team has blown us out. The Baltimore Ravens. From start to finish, we had NO chance. Dolphins. Browns. Cowboys. Broncos. Steelers. We were BEATING them all at one point or another, in chances where we SHOULD HAVE WON. I know you cannot build seasons on that but still.

That is a very logical and well thought prediction. However one thing that you failed to mention is the very illogical fact that the Bengals make opposing rookie QBs look like super stars. I really hope that the Bengals break that awful trend, adn show this rookie why it is indeed bad to be a rookie in the NFL.

Actually I thought the Bengals had the Ravens number with the running game, yet oddly they went away from it. GE ran very well against the Ravens, and they struggle to defend the run.

True, has to be something Zimmer is doing. But the Bengals d-line should be able to keep their QB on his heels. Though we thought Atkins would have a free for all last Sunday and that didn't pan out as well as we'd hoped.


If it happens again this Thursday, I am crowning it the "Black Jesus Effect," to turn rookies and nobodies into the second coming Joe Montana.
