Bowl Season Ethics/Rooting Interests

Bowl season is upon us, and I find myself facing the same conundrum year after year: Should you root for your biggest rival to make your team and conference look stronger, or should you root against them in an attempt to affect their recruiting efforts?

As an Ohio State fan, I would love to see Wisconsin win the Rose Bowl, but I am unsure how to feel about the Outback Bowl.

I find it hard to root for the rivals of my team as well. So i just play it out like I wont cheer for them, but i'll cheer against whoever they play. Not sure if that makes any sense. In my little world it kinda does.

so boo to everybody who is playing a team in the B1G.

the B10 is gonna get throttled most likely although i will be rooting for each and every team...a good bowl season could salvage an otherwise terrible season for the conference.

Who cares, its the best time of the year with college games being played for a couple weeks. just enjoy the games.

To me, the best way to enjoy the games is by yelling at the TV! I need to root against somebody or put down money. So during the bowl season I have interest in how other B1G schools are doing and betting isnt required to keep me interested. Works out really well for me.

Bowl season is great though I agree. I know the atheletic depts make their money on these things but I really think its a great reward for the kids that play the games all year.
